We booked the Bedford for an overnight stay as part of my wife's 60th birthday celebrations. We chose the hotel because of ease of access from the M40/A40, quite simply drive into London turn right and within five minutes you are there, and because it has its own underground car park. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment but this did...

The location is very nice, close to Holborn underground station and the British Musuem. Both of these are within walking distance (5-10 minutes). The weakest point is the bathroom. Poeple over a normal BMI cannot use the bathroom, I guess. Wall insulation was bad. Breakfast is OK and there is also a safe deposit box. It was clean. Good option...

We have stayed many times but now thanks to the upgrade of dining room and foyer these areas meet the standard of the bedrooms . Front of house staff have always been lovely but the change in the dining room is amazing . The lady supervisor could not have been more kind and all her staff seem happy and are...

We only had a weekend in London so decided to stay in a centric hotel to be in zone 1 and avoid underground. Location is good but room was not clean at all, night receptionists could be nicer and breakfast was just fine. Overall, I wouldn't choose this hotel if were a picky person who cares a bit about details....

After our stay in Bedford hotel on returning home I discovered that o had left my purse in the room . 2 days later on phoning the hotel the housekeeper had found it / handed in to management. Not a single cent taken out (id, drivers license) still in the purse. Thank you for such honesty to staff

The hotel is fair value for money, with some helpful staff. The sting comes when your credit card comes and getaroom.com who charge in dollars:( I would also say that when we returned at 11pm it was not possible to get a drink, we were told to go up the road to another hotel. We will not stay there again

I stay here regularly when I visit London. The hotel has been renovated recently, giving the rooms a more modern feel and adding a comfortable bar area next to the restaurant overlooking the external patio gardens. Rooms are clean and comfortable with ironing facilities, a room safe, hairdryer, desk area and free wifi. The staff are helpful and friendly, and...

This is a lovely hotel.. I stayed 11 nights and was impressed by how clean it was, how nice the staff is and the high quality of the breakfast buffet. The buffet had many many choices of cold and hot food, was presented very nicely and the staff members were extremely nice. My room was great, on the garden side...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
