I used to stay in another hotel in London. I wanted to change things and book another place for our short 3-day stay in London. The hotel is located near a busy street, but the perks are that there is a lot going on and there arer a lot of stores and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Right in front of...

The Bedford Hotel is conveniently located for anybody on a theatre break, it is about a 15 minute walk to theatre town and 10 minute walk from Euston Station. My daughter and I stayed overnight, the outside of the hotel was being renovated, the lobby was bright and fresh, the restaurant and bar area lovely and modern. We arrived too...

I returned to the Bedford for a couple of meetings at a nearby university. Although only for one night, my requested room at the (quiet) rear of the building was available despite an evening arrival. The room safe could not be closed as a helpful clown, the preceding occupant in the room, had left it with bolts locked open: my...

Stayed here for one night after a work do. Standard single room days what it does on the tin. Nothing special but a clean room with a comfortable single bed to rest your head. Busy restaurant for breakfast with slow service but nice layout and decor.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times while visiting London. This is one of the places you "adopt" when travelling in Europe. Located in, for me, the best part in London to stay, close to Russell Square, in the middle of Bloomsbury. Modern facilities, amazing garden at the back, great welcome dinner and breakfast. I would definitely...

The hotel is very central to the Covent Garden area i was visiting with the added attracting of having its own car park. The staff are very welcoming and the room clean and comfortable. I asked for a room at the rear as there is a busy road at the front and this was no problem. I would stay here...

Centrally located.Hotel undergoing external renovation so entrance obscured. Bar and foyer freshly decorated. However the corridors are still dated. Room access with key which is fine but ridiculously large key chain - A foot long metal rod!. The room is small and bathroom not great. Shower curtain hooks missing. Suitable for one night stay and unlikely to return.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
