Good location and easy walking distance to Russell Square underground. The lifts were good to easily transfer our luggage to our room. The free wifi worked well in our rooms, however we had to keep getting a code from the front desk every 8 hours as it expires, which means returning to the front desk each night. We had to...

The Bedford for location is excellant, great to walk to Covent Garden and other attractions, but............ We were in a room facing the main road... No double glazing.... For the 2 nights we were there we never slept due to the outside noise..... Sirens constantly through-out the night, revellers along the street, and just the general noise from the traffic....

We stayed 4 nights at Bedford Hotel to explore london. Location is perfect, very close to major attractions and with 2 underground stations nearby to choose. The rooms aren't the smallest we have stayed in London and are very confortable. In our opinion the only downside is the breakfast that has little variety. Its a good value for money and...

I stayed here for 2 nights with friends whilst on a week end break in London. The location is great two tube stations not far away. Our room was very clean and it is a good standard hotel for the price we paid The staff on reception were very friendly, nothing was to much trouble for them. The waiters in...

Bedford offers standard accommodation at a reasonable price. It is a nice and clean hotel and a convenient “base” for moving around (museum, theatres, shopping, etc). It doesn’t provide anything truly special, as a comparative advantage over it rivals but it will surely cover your standard needs without disappointing you. Rooms are in general ok without being extraordinary. The staff...

I wouldn't stop here for a romantic vacation. But it's clean and convenient. The rooms are small and the hotel Is noisy. But then it's London. Overall A good hotel. Be particularly nice to the bar staff. I have stayed in most of its sister hotels. This is probably the best.

I stayed here with my daughter and we had a room overlooking the main road. The room was clean and tidy but very hot and we had to have the windows open overnight. This meant it was incredibly noisy. There is no air-conditioning and the hotel does not have a supply of fans. Food was average but the staff were...

A few months ago, I stayed at a hotel across the road from this one so knew the area. We wanted somewhere central and reasonably comfortable. We were only staying one night so as long as it was clean had comfy beds and a shower we would be content. This hotel ticked all the boxes and more, the staff were...

Needing to be reasonably close to Euston Station (for travelling down to London) and to the tube system (subway, Metro, or what you will) for travelling around Central London, the Bedford turned out to be an ideal location for me. The hotel is part of the Imperial group of, I think, three hotels all around the Russell Square area. Reception...

Me and my family stayed 5 night at he beginning of July this year. It is a great location. Close to Russell Square, maybe a 10 minutes walk to the metro station and a good numbers of restaurants near by. We reserved this hotel in March and we were disappointed to have a room over looking the road, who is...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
