From the moment I began checking in at the Grange City, I was disappointed. While the lobby is beautiful, the staff member who checked me in looked fed up and annoyed that he had to help me. He mumbled and gave me no information unless I asked - even about where breakfast was! Next I got to the room which...

I stayed here for business. Not where I usually stay but it was close to a work event I was attending. The location is brilliant - very close to a lot of tourist attractions. Whereas there is nothing "wrong" with the hotel I thought it was just a bit jaded. The decor is right out of the late 80's and...

Stayed in room 306 which was very comfortable and spacious. However on Saturday night it became clear it was above a function room as there was loud live music playing until 1am. The whole room, especially the bathroom, shook with the noise and we couldn't get to sleep until it finished. None of the staff had warned us about this,...

Spent a week here as a part of a big work group. We used nearly all of the hotels services at one stage or another and cannot give them a big enough wrap. Facilities are all excellent. But the thing for me about this hotel is the staff. Attentive to your every need, helpful with out being over bearing and...

This hotel was was part of a theatre package weekend. We got upgraded on check in and had a lovely room quiet as requested. Very comfortable bed. Large room, tea and coffee supplied. Bathroom clean with complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was good the hot food could of done with being hotter but was ok. Plenty of cereals, fruit, pastries and jams...

I went here for a weekend break in the city and was surprised at what you get, or don't get, for the money. The hotel room I was in (421) had a shabby feel to it. The bath had not been cleaned properly in what appears to be a very long time, there was mouldy bits on the sealant and...

Had a wonderful overnight stay in this sumptuous Hotel, we were greeted by a concierge as soon as we stepped into the hotel to help with our cases and although we were early we managed to book into our rooms straight away and, to top it all we were upgraded to Executive rooms. The rooms were fabulous definitely the Wow...

Stayed on the 10th floor with great views of the Tower Bridge. Food was good but room service a little pricey .. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and the cost was near on £20. Also mini bar is expensive, a little bottle of Gordon's gin and a small tin of tonic water worked out at £10. The hotel is situated...

This hotel is listed as 4star but unfortunately falls short of this. Poor experience at check in with our room not ready, no breakfast included in the price despite paying an extortionate rate, to add on a breakfast was a ridiculous price, the room was basic but nice, the spa and gym mediocre, the hotel bar was lacking in character,...

Surely not a 5* hotel. Staff handle complaints badly, lies to you and after long discussion you get another room even if they say the hotel is sold out. Also the new room was downgraded. You don't expect finding brown stripes from your sheets or black pubic hairs or massive dark stains in mattress. I do expect 5* hotel keeping...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
