I had a one night stay in a twin bedded room with a friend in this city centre hotel. The location is excellent, with shops, restaurants and bars in the area around the Bank of England and St Paul's available within walking distance. It also has excellent tube and bus links across London within a couple of minutes’ walk. The...

Limited amenities. Bed comfortable and clean, room small, shower hard to control temperature and water overflow. Very limited food services, box breakfast for purchase, instant coffee and tea in the room. But there are many good breakfast places, coffee shops within a short walk. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Street and construction noise an issue. We had to keep our...

Slightly hard to find, but had looked up recent comments to know where to go! Lovely friendly welcome! Had a lovely quiet room (even in the middle of London). Room lovely and clean, comfortable bed. Great location for us as we wanted to explore that side of London. Having said that fairly easy walk to Covent Garden and beyond. My...

Friendly team the room was spacious the bed comfy - good shower and all in all everything I needed including tea and coffee in the room. It's very close to bank and monument tubes and you can walk into central London. The floors creak a bit and the walls are a little thin so you can hear others occasionally but...

This London based Travelodge was clean, bright with friendly staff. Rooms were quite with no out side street noise. Cheap for London and easy to commute too. would certainly recommend and would consider staying again in the future.

Just an overnight stay here. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Not the best area if you want to eat out or go to shows etc but handy for the tower etc in olde London.

Here for a night only. Did the job and would stay here again. We were able to check in an hour early and leave our baggage there as we arrived super early in the morning. Everything was in working order.

First time in a Travelodge. Nice little hotel hidden away in the heart of the city. Not quite up to the standard of their nearest rivals but good value for money. On arrival and departure The reception staff were polite and helpful. The bed was comfy and the sheets were crisp. The room was clean, but the net curtains were...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
