Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch comes highly recommended for its prime location, enveloped by a lively nightlife and easy access to attractions. Guests have called out the hotel's atmosphere, with many finding the stylish rooms and luxurious amenities like steam showers and cozy beds to be a highlight. However, opinions on service and value for money are mixed; while some travelers have had positive interactions with attentive staff, others have experienced slow service and unexpected additional charges, particularly for breakfast. Room opinions also vary, with praise for cleanliness but some concerns regarding size, noise, and maintenance.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mondrian. Ryan who checked us in and out was very nice to talk to, gave us all the information and set us up for a good stay.

The room was spacious, well presented and a nice place to be.

The rooftop restaurant was a very nice setting for a tasty breakfast.

I have stayed at The Curtain a couple times and it’s now my go to London Hotel. Why? The location in Shoreditch is discreet yet convenient, the service at the hotel is very customer friendly and the price of the rooms are not astronomical. I really appreciate the customer service. I always ask for a quiet room in the back of the hotel away from the lifts and both times have had great rooms that are super quiet and very comfortable. Whenever I request an early check in, I have always been either accommodated or called as soon as there is a room available. The rooftop where you can dine is lovely and the breakfast buffet is fresh, delicious and generous. One of my favourite things at the hotel is the steam shower, that is just a little slice of heaven after a long
trip/day! I booked my next stay for my birthday and hope that my plans aren’t affected by the coronavirus 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Curtain.
The staff were welcoming, accommodating and personable. The room was creatively decorated and made great use the of space - the room seemed far spacious than pictures depict. The property is very well maintained throughout and I highly recommend for anybody who enjoys a relaxing, informal vibe coupled with personable service.

Stayed here for Just 1 night as we were up in London for a gig at Alexandra Palace .

Funky well designed room although a little small , decor was very “hip” but was a nice change as many hotels look the same .

Bed was very comfortable and good quality pillows .

Breakfast was really nice , proper cup of loose leaf breakfast tea in a light and airy space .

This restaurant is tastefully decorated and very good standard .

Only 2 things to note that were negative

1) corridors very dimly lit so has dark feel to it .
2)would have liked to have been advised of the steam shower facility as we only noticed this just before we left .

Great city hotel would definitely recommend and not too expensive

I recently booked one of The Curtain's private function rooms for my 30th birthday and had such a fabulous night. The night was well organised in advance, so I went in feeling confident and relaxed that the evening would go well. The staff that worked the event went above and beyond in making sure that I was happy with everything and that everyone's needs were taken care of. The canapes were delicious but the real highlight was the CAKE ... I genuinely had people messaging me days after to say they were still thinking about it!

Would recommend to anyone looking for a luxury private function in a good and easy-to-get-to location in London

From reading the internet The Curtain Hotel seems like the quintessential hip and happening London hotel where you need to be. Upon arrival you would still aggree with your online research: a very well taken care off lobby, stylish furniture, fresh fruits and great receptionists. However, fast foreword to the rooms, in particular the “suite,” where one pays a gross amount of atleast 600 pounds p.n for (which is close to 700 euro): the excitement quickly fades. As soon as you walk into the room.. you are striken by a very odd layout and cramped space. We kindly asked for another room, and luckily got one without a struggle. Half the price (but still 350 pounds) for the exact same quality room just without a shared balcony with other suites. Here are a few more complaints we had about the room(s): the showers didn’t get properly hot, mostl likely due to regulations, but still: after a long flight and arriving to a colder climate I just care for a hot shower, not a medium luke warm one. The robes are not worth mentioning (tin as tissue) and cheap. They place the towels on the handicap pole in the toilet.. Very unhygienic if you ask me. Room service was quite alright- but house keeping was terrible. They either enter (without knocking) on a Saturday morning at 9 a clock and then proceed at 9.30 again -or not come at all. We came back from multiple long days out to a still unmade chamber. To make matters worse, when asked, on the daily (this happened almost all 5 nights) we would be asked to wait in the hotel lobby: one day we literally got drenched as the pipes of the hotel lobby broke and basically turned the lobby into a swimming pool. In all it was not a necessarily “relaxing” stay at a hotel, where when you pay 350 pounds per night for (which is close to 400 euros per night.) as a conpensation they offered us a drink..... it goes on..
the room we got had no privacy whatsoever, if you decide to open the curtains you basically exposed to the residential building 3 meters infront of the rooms. So we had to keep them close most of the time.

Pretty hotel, okay loc, nice breakfast and reception, but not necessarily worth the money.

My first time staying in this part of London and obviously at this hotel. On a budget for this trip, I had the entry level room, which was very cosy and well appointed considering it was small.

Friendly staff, the main entrance could be better sign posted for first time guests. I checked in easily and had a very pleasant couple of nights staying in a courtyard facing room which was quiet and dark.

Bathroom well appointed and all up I enjoyed my first stay at the hotel

We had a lovely time, the staff were very friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the room upgrade and the prossecco left in the room to celebrate my friend's 30th. The room itself was lovely and so were all the facilities.
The one piece of negative feedback I would give would be towards the breakfast buffet which was quite disappointing given the premium nature of the hotel - the choice and selection were limited, often the containers were empty and we had to wait a while to get these things - it all felt a bit messy and gross and the staff were a lot less attentive than other experiences. If I had paid for this separately I would have definitely been left feeling frustrated!

Otherwise I would totally recommend and would love to return!

Loved everything about our experience. From the hotel location and decor to the exquisite bedrooms. The staff were warm welcoming and so helpful from the reception staff to the breakfast staff we honestly couldn’t fault the service you provided. The bar staff were lovely too and obviously skilled at their job. The little finishing touches in the room like the cocktail tray were extra special. The food was absolutely delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day. Fabrizia was very attentive as were all the staff there. Thanks for a superb stay we will definitely be back.

Perfect stay from start to finish. The staff were extremely polite, attentive and just always willing to help. The rooms were faultless, the amenities especially, the bathroom, the decor and you cannot hear a single sound from outside on to the streets below. The location is in amongst everything you will possibly need.

Everything about this hotel hit the spot!
