Travelodge London Docklands Central receives mixed feedback from guests. While the hotel boasts a prime location near public transport and attractions like the O2 Arena, some visitors find it too far from central London. The rooms offer comfortable beds and impressive views but face criticism for cleanliness and noise issues, particularly from the plumbing. Although the staff's friendliness often earns praise, service inconsistencies and unaddressed concerns are noted. Overall, the hotel is considered good value for its affordability, despite extra charges for Wi-Fi and parking.

Overall this hotel is very good, the high up rooms offer absolutely fantastic views, very comfy beds, was quiet at night and everything is very new, clean and modern. I would say though that we felt our stay was slightly let down by a couple of minor issues. When we first checked in the room felt very hot and stuffy, the heating/air con unit on the wall said 22.5c and the windows do not open. With 4 of us staying in a family room, it immediately was uncomfortable. Was unable to turn it down as although the instructions on wall said it cam be turned down to 18c, as aoon as w3 had arrived the unit was showing an error code with a spanner icon so there seem3d to be a fault. Unable to ring reception as no phone in room, unless I wanted to be charged to ring their number from my own phone, so I went back down to reception. I explained the problem, the mam on the desk said 18c is the coolest it could be set but I explained the error code and that the room was way too warm esp3cially with 4 of us. He said he would have to come and look at it in a short while. 3 hours later still no one had been up to our room but as were getting ready to go out I noticed a puddle on the bathroom floor coming from the toilet which was leaking. We went back down to reception and explained and to be fair they swapped rooms for us efficiently which was a good job as thankfully the new room was cooler and the aircon worked. The rooms are very new and this room had an amazing floor to ceiling window with a view of the 02 and city. Tea and coffee and hot chocolate and kitkats provided which was a nice touch. One thing though is no glasses or cups supplied, not even disposable plastic cups. The only other minor issue we had was the double bed provided 2 pillows each, but for my two teenage children their beds only had one pillow each. My daughter woke up with a bad neck the first morning so when we returned the following evening on our way up to room we asked at reception if it would please be possible to request 1 extra pillow. Woman on reception said she would have to bring one up to us and asked out room number. Went up to bed and after waiting an hour, still no pillow, my partner went 16 floors back down the lift to reception where the woman said they had no spare pillows but no 9ne jad bothered to communicatethis to us. Rather disappointing for such a simple request that other hotels have no problem providing.
Overall would stay here again for the views, the location is great, 5 mins from East India DLR, a pretty walk through business district with trees lit up with fairy lights at night.

The hotel was spotless, and the smell of new carpets was everywhere, the initial checking in took only a minute, and the staff were very friendly.
We had two family rooms both on the same floor, overlooking the river, emirates cable cars, and the 02… it was breathtaking at night.
The room was well equipped, and beds very comfy.
There was no noise from outside, or from nearby rooms.. the corridor had another large window at the end which also had amazing views.
The food was great value and there was plenty of variety at both breakfast and dinner.
We had one mix up on the final night, where one meal was forgotten from our order, so we had to wait for it to come out, luckily the shows we had come to see were previous nights ( this could of made us late ) but luckily we had no rush on our final night to eat and get out again.
The cutlery could do with being checked a bit more often as we quite often found empty pots on the table and had to run round finding knives and forks.
The staff were very accommodating when our boys needed larger meals than the ‘childrens menu ‘ Nathan was very helpful and amended it so they could have adult meals for the duration of our stay.
Breakfast was fab, we were all more than happy with the choice, there was plenty of everything food wise, the only problem was the coffee and tea machines were playing up… but hey the Apple juice was delicious and hot chocolate too.
Over all I loved every minute and would happily come back time and time again… in fact I got home yesterday and have already looked at the website to book again..
We loved every minute, and can’t wait to come back again !

My friend and I visited in mid July for a 4 night stay, we were slightly unsure of what we would find after reading some negative reviews in the first couple of weeks of this hotel being operational but we needn't have worried.
We had requested neighbouring rooms so we could both have our privacy without being miles away from each other and after a few minutes checking availability at check in, Shah managed to find us 2 rooms a few doors apart on the 9th floor (910 and 920). He did say we could move rooms later if we wanted to be closer but we were happy with that, it just meant we headed in diff directions once out of the lift.
Our rooms were cool, (with the aircon set at 18°) clean, fresh and well appointed. The bathrooms were small but everything was clean and new and the shower was a godsend (although the dispenser for shower gel was empty on arrival but was restocked the next morning) given that we were there on the hottest days ever!
There were plenty of pillows, the bed was comfy and the linens and towels were pristine.
Some reviews have said about a fabulous view but my room looked directly out onto the rooftop of another building but did have a side view down Saffron Avenue oppsite which was a gorgeous place to wander down. There are shops, and eateries down there set beside a pond filled with beautiful water lillies and also a very tasty Italian restaurant called Solento that we visited twice. (£30-35)
We took to calling into the shop that sold lots of pastries, sandwiches, fruit, hot drinks and fresh orange juice which we had for our breakfasts sitting in a tranquil outdoor seating area before travelling out for the day's adventures. (£5-6 approx)
The footpath to the East India DLR over the very busy road is also down there and it all felt very safe, clean and modern.
We also ate dinner in the hotel one evening and we both ordered the Nandos style half chicken and a side, all of which was delicious and very good value at £14.95
The hotel staff were all super friendly especially Shual who works in the bar, Shah and Danielle on reception and several others who all deserve recognition for their efforts to make us feel welcome although I have forgotten their names which is a shame as their efforts were just as enthusiastic.
I'm struggling to find anything negative to say that doesn't sound just plain old mean and nitpicky and I think this young, enthusiast crew will really make this hotel a popular choice once they get properly into their stride. For us it was a good value, comfy, cool haven to relax in at the end of every hot, tiring day and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel was booked for four nights as I needed somewhere that was more affordable. While the hotel had a fresh interior, countless problems with the service made the experience challenging at times.

At first, checking in felt unwelcoming. The person behind the counter seem fazed when I told him I had a room booked. Looking up my booking seemed to take a long minute and I was just handed a card without any mention of my room number or how to get to it.

The room itself was clean and fresh once I walked in although the WIFI which I paid for was extremely slow and only downloaded at speeds of less than 3mbs. I could not listen to a Spotify song without it pausing every 10 seconds. This was disappointing and made my stay very awkward as I needed use of my laptop

The first impressions at reception continued as I ordered my meal that was pre-booked. I chose to pre-book the meal option for all four nights (something I questioned by the fourth night). On the first night, after finally being served once the bar staff finished a conversation, it took forever to explain I had pre-paid and for the server to take my order, having to repeat three times – his manner was also quite abrupt, despite me trying to be friendly.

Service on all nights was extremely slow and this was not a sentiment exclusive to me. The first night I waited 45 minutes for my food – 25 minutes in staff asked me to recall what I ordered, which did not boost confidence. This happened twice during the week. Most annoyingly, every night I had to signal that I had finished my main and was ready for dessert. The first three nights I sat for 20 minutes with my empty plate trying to attract a member of staff to take it away – many just walked past and avoided my looking over. This meant I was in the restaurant for 1.5 hours every night, which when ordering at 8pm meant I did not look forward to having to eat there. Again, on my final night (when I told them to serve the second course 20mins after the first) one customer was also asking where their dessert was, so this service was experienced by others. There were no more than 4 other customers each night dining.

The final poor experience I had was getting stuck in the lift on my way to checkout. The lift stopped and the buttons stopped working – apart from the bell. I pressed this which got me through to someone who was definitely external from the hotel and was of no use at all. He asked me what was wrong, to which I said I was stuck in a lift. The phone hung up and nothing happened. After 10 minutes of being trapped, it went to the top of the building after being called by someone else.

That moment capped off a general experience of feeling unimportant to any of the staff, despite how new and fresh the building was.

We booked a family room and since the hotel was overbooked we only got a double room and didn't even receive any refund for it. Then our room we've got was for disabled people which was why the sink and the toilet were oddly low and the shower had an installed chair (which took a lot of room in the shower). On top of that our room was not clean at all. There were toe nails on the bathroom floor and hairs in our sink. The carpet floor in the sleeping area was not vacuumed before we got there nor was it as long as we stayed. We asked 5 times for it to be cleaned and they finally only did it the day we had to leave! We also hung the sign on our door that says to please tidy up the room (on regular basis) and all they did was exchange the towels. No bed was made, no vacuum was used, no dust was wiped. The lady at the front desk the first night couldn't help us at all, because she didn't know anything about the hotel or the rooms and there was no one in charge there! All we got were some cheap excuses and bad customer service. Besides that I do not recommend getting breakfast there either. They didn't even have the most essentials things like butter / cream cheese or cheese or nutella. They did have a massive amount of beans (which we don't eat), eggs and sausages and thats about it... we also would have loved to have a coffee in the morning and we didn't expect too much of it, but you can not call what they offered a coffee. It was mostly just water...

Definetly the first and last time we stayed.

£200 per night for a Travelodge? - Seriously! When I checked in for 3 nights, I discovered that the TV didn't work. A member of staff had a fiddle with it, admitted that they knew it didn't work and the only solution was to change rooms. Fine, however we had already unpacked therefore had to pack before moving. Hugely inconvenient - why couldn't they swap tv's? Why put us on a room where you knew the TV was useless? No compensation for the inconvenience offered and when I pressed the point, we were offered a drink (in the bar overlooking a roundabout). By the way, take your own toilet paper as the stuff in the rooms is cheap rubbish. Hopefully they will also be able to find someone who can use a vacuum cleaner as all the carpets in both rooms plus corridors are a bit of a state.

1. The room was alright, clean and tidy. Fairly spacious. The view was nice. Close to DLR station too.
2. The ventilations system of the building was not good. We were on the 8/F., and we could smell what the kitchen on 1/F. was cooking in the corridor and lift lobby.
3. When we checked in, we found a towel hanging behind the bathroom door, and there were stuff in the dustbin in the room, so obviously the room cleaner didnot actually tidied the room thoroughly.
4. On the first night we checked in. We arrived late and we went to the cafe and ordered dinner at 8:30pm. After waiting for over 30min, we were told that it would be another 20min. After that, we were told to wait for another 5min. But after that, we were told they had not even started preparing it. We got a refund of course, but that was not the point. Why did they not tell us the first time that they had not started preparing it?
4. On the second night we stayed, we found that there was no more shower gel from the thing mounted on the wall. So it was obvious that the house keeping had never checked on the shower gel.
5. On the third night of our stay, there was a fire alarm at around 4am. The guests were very good, and walked down to the ground floor in a very orderly manner, but there were no staff there supervising the guests, nor tell the guests what happened. We could see a fire engine outside the main entrance. After must have been over half another, the fire engine left, and then a staff with a 'loudspeaker' announced that they were going to make a role call and let the guests went back to their room one by one, but still not telling us what had happened or whether the building was safe already. After some deliberation, and tellling the staff why on earth they wanted to have a role call when the building was safe that she let the guests went back to their room. The staff had absolutely no expeirence at all, although we knew that that kind of thing should not have occurred that often.
6. The hotel charged 12pounds for the day, but if u took the car out during that time, there was no guarantee that you would have your space back when you returned.

We had an awful experience with the food and customer service during our stay. We'd travelled all the way from Bournemouth and selected the hotel for it's location and affordability in particular the ample breakfast where the kids could eat for free. We checked in quite late and selected our meal choices in the room prior to going to the restaurant, 3 pizzas, one lamb curry and a king prawn linguine. None of our choices were available so we settled for 2 beef burgers, 2 fish finger burgers and a chicken burger. The only edible element of all the dishes was the chips. All the contents for the 5 burgers were extremely overcooked and so dry that they were inedible.

Breakfast was even more of a catastrophe. When we checked in we were told that breakfast finished at 11am. We arrived at breakfast at 10.05am. We were promptly turned away and told that breakfast finished at 10am. I explained that we were told 11am and that we had already pre-paid. The waitress just repeated that breakfast had finished and walked away. There was no offer of 'let me see what I can do' - no offer of drinks, cereal, toast or anything. There were other people in the same situation who told us that they had been told 11am too, turned up at 10am and were turned away. It was my partners birthday on the day and we'd arrived for breakfast armed with cards and presents for him to open and we couldn't even sit down in the restaurant. We immediately went to reception and asked for a refund. We were questioned as to what exactly we had eaten to which I said 'nothing, not even a drink'. Eventually it was agreed that we could get a refund but were advised that there was no-one on reception that knew how to do it and we'd have to wait for the assistant manager. The assistant manager was called and we waited an hour for her to show up. By which time we had 3 irritable hungry children and needed to get a taxi to find a place for breakfast pronto. We ended up having to pay over £100 for breakfast for 5 people. We would have been better off at more expensive hotel, with better facilities, food and customer service. It was a really disappointing experience on a very special occasion.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights (two adults, one child) Check in was super fast and were given a room on the 15th floor. We had booked a super room. Parking is very limited at the hotel so i had booked parking through yourparking at the import building which is a 5 minutes walk. The cost was £12 for 24 hours. The car park is accessed via saffron street and clove crescent. Saffron Ave is barrier controled and security quickly let us through. The surroundings of the hotel and import building is stunning. There are ponds, childrens playground, trees covered in lights, ice cream palour, shops and a gym. The DLR is also a 5 minute walk.
We were give two keycards which made it easy as i dropped off my wife and son at the hotel before going to park.
The view from our room was beautiful. We had a clear view of the O2 and from the corridor we could see canary wharf. Towels were changed and teas/coffees topped up. You must hang the notice outside your door which tells staff that you need the towels changing etc.
The AC worked wonders as we stayed during a heatwave. Very comfortable sleep at night.
The only problem we had was that we found the bathroom a bit small. However, it was manageable. Also, there was flooding inside the bath and we discovered a large hair ball in the drain which we removed. It was disgusting.
I would certainly stay again. I just hope they clean the bathrooms better.

Just back from a 2 night stay. Lovely place for a more "budget" hotel. Super rooms well appointed, and obviously very clean being only a few days old.
5* for rooms, but bar / restaurant staff were completely overwhelmed, and didn't seen ready to be unleashed upon the public.
Breakfast on Saturday was an embarrassment. £9.50 prepaid for mushrooms & tomatoes isn't acceptable. That was all that was available after queuing for about 25 mins. Tables were filthy, juice / coffee everywhere, and zero urgency from the staff who were on (only 2 were visible). A sleepier bunch of people I've never seen. Everything being done at a a snails pace. Punters shouldn't have to stand and wait with food in hand while staff slowly wipe & clean dining surfaces. Didn't attempt breakfast the next morning even though it was prepaid as didn't want to to endure the fiasco again, or the countless other guests moaning about the place.
Bar the next afternoon was awful too. 1 person on who seemed to not be trained in pulling a pint (half a glass of foam isn't a pint). Then I was told to take s seat & a replacement would be pulled and delivered to me. She forgot about me, even though I was directly in front of the bar. 20 mins wait for a full pint !! Glasses lying everywhere, and no urgency to collect. When pint arrived, was in a a steaming hot glass !!
I'll use the place again if I need to be in the area, but public area staff need more training in both service, cleanliness & urgency.
Also, a robot hoover going about it's business in an operational bar is fun to watch, but a combo claim for a broken ankle in the making !!

Yes, there is a system which seems both to cool and warm. As the guest you have some control over it.
