Lovely restored building close to the tube and London's tourist district. Quiet neighbourhood with top floor shared garden area to sit at the end of the day. Comfortable bed with nutritious breakfast to start your day. Large assortment of maps and info on London available for guests to review. Great value for your money and worth checking out. Wonderful host...

Well located very close to Shadwell DLR and Overground stations. Lovely historic old Inn - stayed in room 2 which was comfortable and reasonably spacious. Plentiful continental breakfast each morning. Great host, not at all intrusive. Plenty of available literature in dining room for exploration of surrounding area, as well as London as a whole. In spite of central location,...

Thank you Julian for a lovely but short stay in your wonderful B&B. Room 3 was absolutely perfect - set on a peaceful rd, with an extremely comfortable bed & beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was far better than we thought it would be with freshly cut bread, boiled eggs and pastries. Not your average continental. Hope to come and stay again...

A spacious and quiet room (very comfortable bed) in an amazing historical building, surrounded by antiques and contemporary art (an original Gilbert&Georg in the hallway). Great location to discover the new developments in the docklands or the new and trendy parts of East-London (the overhead is a 2 min walk and also gives excellent connections with Central London). Amazing roof...

Far more interesting than the plethora of hotel chains in the vicinity, this is a slice of real London. We enjoyed the hospitality of Julian who made the stay comfortable. The rooms were well designed and decorated and the breakfast homely. Many well regarded pubs, restaurants and attractions within short walking distance.

My wife and I stayed in Cable Street Inn for 4 days and we had a very pleasant time. The room was very comfortable, clean and beautiful. The bathroom was also pretty good, I loved the shower. Also, the location is perfect. It's a foot distance to nice touristic places like the Tower Bridge. There are lots of restaurants near...

Spent a week at Cable Street Inn, and enjoyed the best sleep! Seriously, the king size bed in Room 3 was so cozy and comfortable, we both commented on our quality of sleep. Julian is an excellent host and has made the Inn a well-appointed and cozy home away from home for those of us lucky enough to find it!...

My husband and I stayed at the Cable Street Inn for 5 nights in July 2016. There are an underground and light rail stop close to this location. With an Oyster Card it is easy to use both and get anywhere you want to go in London. Then you can come back to the Inn and enjoy a nice glass...

My husband, Greg, and I stayed at Julian's lovely Cable Street Inn mid-June 2016. The pictures on the website of the rooms and the outside of the Inn caught my eye. Julian met us at the entrance, helped with our bags (one flight of stairs), and showed us our room, breakfast/lounging area, and rooftop garden patio. And, because we asked,...

The Cable Street Inn is located in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood just a block from 2 different tube stations (Shadwell). It's easy to get to central London from here, and easier to get away from the noise of central London here. We felt very safe wandering the streets in the neighborhood around the inn. It's 10 minutes or less to...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
