Arrived at hotel and checked, given room 114. Went to room it had not been prepared, bed unmade, boxes on the floor etc. Went back to reception, given an alternative room 483. Room was adequate, we were only going to sleep init. One of the bedside lights did not have a bulb, went back to reception and asked for one....

We have just returned from Kings cross royal scot London staff were curtious although 2 members of staff were rowing in the breakfast area blaming each other for something, room was just about adequate as we just used it as a base, it was very used, plug didn't fit sink water pressure poor. We skipped cooked breakfast as it was...

Stayed for 2 nights, mid week in early January. The room was very basic overlooking King's Cross Road. Just a double bed, desk area with a tubular chair, TV but no phone. Small wardrobe and storage space. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower. The king size bed was very comfortable and ensured a good nights sleep. There was...

To be frank the hotel is the cheaper in London, but my room was not so clean, free wi-fi connection didn't work so well, the shower water pressure was bad (instead, temperature was very good), we had no bathroom products (soap, shampoo, etc.).

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Granted I stayed NYE and paid £200 and I accept that the price was high due to the time of the year. However, I find it disgraceful that they can actually rationalise charging guests £200. The hotel is more like a 1940s hospital than a hotel. It is...

Staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is tired and dated and the rooms need some attention and updating. The shower in our room was hot but the pressure was really low. The room and bathroom were clean - but a deep clean and hoovering round the skirting board is needed. Basically the whole place is in need...

Dispite the name suggesting close proximity to Kings Cross it's a good walk. Bedrooms are very outdated, poorly lit, very basic, and incredibly noisy at night. Not a good nights sleep! Next time I'd pay more and book the actual kings cross travelodge which looked really nice when walking past.

This is the second time in the past six months I was a guest of the Travelodge. The last time was excellent and so is my recommendation. This time I was very disappointed receptionist's attitude when it comes to cleanliness and refreshment room. For two days did not clean the rooms and replace towels and the highlight was the receptionist...

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
