Hotel has an excellent location Very close to subway . Reception staff very nice and friendly plus excellent indian restaurant on site. But .... rooms veeery small , not too comfortable , need some refreshing . Anyway - you do not come to London to stay in the hotel . Good location for a few nights .

I chose the hotel for its location which is right opposite Gloucester Road tube station. We checked into a family room but it was not large enough for our family (3 children) but the hotel immediately upgraded us for a minimal amount. Breakfast was ok, room clean but aircon was a bit annoying (loud ticking noise) - Room 510.

Dear Swatz61. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Montana Hotel. While I am very pleased to read that you and your family enjoyed your visits, I was of course very concerned to read that you had a problem with our air conditioning. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and rest assured that...

A hotel run by indians with indian cousine restaurant. Although it is very clean (thanks to the Eastern European immigrants), the interior is extremely kitsch, cheap and blink-blink ; the walls are made of paper, I could hear every step and word of people in the corridor, so couldn't sleep at night. The bathroom is 2,5sq.m, so need to open...

Fantastic location for Royal Albert Hall, Museums and Hyde Park and only a few metres away from a tube station that goes direct into central London. Good value hotel, friendly staff and good choice at breakfast. Rooms are compact but do offer everything you need. We had a family room for 2 adults (upgraded at hotel after booking a twin...

Third stay. Never again. Always a problem. Every time there is a problem with the room. We always ask for a room with a tub and on arrival, we get a room with a bathroom the size of an airline bathroom. Shower included! Then we go downstairs to try to change. Then we get to change the next day. Then...

I stayed at the Montana for 1 night in a single room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. I ate in the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel and enjoyed one of the nicest Indian meals I have ever tasted, served by fantastic staff. Breakfast was taken in the restaurant and I went for the full English served again by very attentive...

Really nice hotel, all amenities, air conditioning, tv, free WIFI, fridge, safe, tea and coffee in the room, comfortable high bed, decent shower, shower gel, shampoo etc. Really nice staff, really helpful. We paid for breakfast when we arrived which gave us a...

What a lovely hotel in a perfect location for the Royal Albert Hall as well as the Natural History, Science and V&A museums. Staff were welcoming and polite. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. I would like to have seen Fire Escape instructions clearly defined in the rooms however, especially as we were on a lower floor and...

First things first! This is a hotel in Knightsbridge for about the same price as some of the B&Bs in the Kings Cross area. So if you're expecting a five-star experience, you may be disappointed. But that's not to say it's a bad place to stay. Quite the opposite! I was very impressed with the value. Yes, the rooms are...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
