The location of this hotel is really good - only a short walk away there is a good range of shops and the tube is only a 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately in our experience the rooms did not live up to the glossy website - do not be fooled! Our room needed a good lick of paint and the...

The location in Bayswater is quite good when you actually are able to find it. When you are trying to find it remember whilst it is technically on Princes Square the actual location is not on the Square itself. We drove around Princes Square for 20 mins and asked 4 different people how to actually get to the hotel. The...

Some of my friends and I chose to stay in this apartment because of it's location. We were going to see some bands in Hyde Park, so wanted to stay relatively closeby. It took about 30 minutes to walk there one way. As for getting around the rest of the city, the apartments are only a few minutes walk away...

This apartment was in a great position for the Metro, local shops and cafes and the apartment was fairly quiet. The bathroom was a good size. However, the layout and furniture of the apartment left a lot to be desired. The floors sloped, the doors between the rooms had 3 inch gaps at the bottom and didn't stay open -...

While the hotel looked nice from the outside and was basically clean i had to turn and go through probably 4 firedoors, up and down small flights of stairs and along dirty scuffed corridors to find my room. The room was very spacious but also very sparse, the bed was uncomfortable and the duvet more like a sheet. the TV's...

Location is good, nice safe area close to shops and walking distance to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations, near the northwest corner of Hyde park. We had breakfast included. Unfortunately breakfast doesnt start until 8 (they lock the doors until exactly 8AM) and its a mob scene as soon as they open. The breakfast room is nice but really cramped...

My disabled son, his carer and i have just come back today from a week at The Grand Plaza. Our accommodation was spacious, the beds comfortable and the duvets lovely. Very clean and lots of towels, and we have really enjoyed it. There were problems with the washing machines, but with so many people using them its not surprising. Staff...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
