I turned 18 on the 11th of September and all I wanted was booking a few days by myself in London. I looked for a cheap option since I was alone and all I really cared about was simply a bed where to sleep in a good position; when I came across Imperial college it was love at first sight:...

Safe clean accommodation in Kensington area. I arrived around 2:30pm and did not have to queue to check in. Single Ensuite room very clean with toiletries+ tea/coffee/bottled water. Room was on first floor overlooking gardens. Lovely view and very quiet. Pool and gym use also inclusive with full breakfast. The Eastside Bar is very good. Food and drinks are not...

This is a great place in central London for the price. South Kensington Station is about a 10 minute walk away with museums in between. My single room was quite small but clean and modern. No TV or radio, but it had a jug and fan. They didn't replace the tea and coffee or toiletries during my stay and I...

If you're looking for clean, safe, basic budget accommodation, this could be for you. If you're looking for a luxury hotel, book somewhere else. You get a room, desk, lamp, shower, loo - and that's about it. Bring your own hairdryer. Bed was lumpy and lamp didn't work. However it quiet, clean and overlooking a nice grassy square. It was...

This is student accommodation and only available in the summer - unfortunately. it is in a great situation, just by South Kensington Tube, right by the V&A, Natural History Museum etc. The rooms are functional, spotlessly clean, en-suite bathrooms. The young staff could not have been more helpful and charming. There's also a shop and a great bar onsite. i...

Had a great stay at the Imperial College of London. Rooms are a little small but you don't go there to look at the room! Absolutely wonderful full breakfast if you eat it all you don't need lunch! Would definitely stay again and recommended to all.

We were a group of 4 heading to two events in different parts of London. As this hotel is so close to a tube station it made life very easy. This hotel is also very near all the museums the V&A Natural History and Science are right on the door step The rooms are basic but clean we just used...

If you want cheap and cheerful but with a great location and a clean and comfortable bed with a hearty breakfast this is a good place to stay. The rooms are very compact but have all you need. The only issue for me travelling with a friend was I was expecting a twin room and got a double and as...

London is very expensive but this is a dormitory that is turned into a hotel when the kids let out for summer vacation. It's in a beautiful part of town, South Kensington. There are free great museums next door. Free breakfast that is pretty decent. The Tube (subway) is in waking distance and surrounded by great restaurants and quaint shops....

Stayed here just one night as a base and it's brill. It's the student halls of residence but obviously they are not there in the summer. Good basic accommodation - breakfast included - refectory style - very 'uni'. Listen if you want all the frills (TV, hairdryer, towels folded in the shape of swans etc.) this probably isn't for you...

Neighbourhood Profile
Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.
