Met a friend/business contact for breakfast at the Chinese Cricket Club at the Crowne Plaza. Good choice, to suit all tastes. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. It was good for a business meeting as the tables were fairly well spaced. Menu a little expensive but you're paying for location, so relative.

All Staff extremely helpful, friendly, making the stay pleasant. Lots to apologize for, which they did do: disgustingly dirty floor in bathroom, bath rail broken, hot tap marked cold and vice versa, leaky tap, dribble of water pressure into tub, room service food dire, breakfast below Crowne standard of quality and preparation, printer in business centre broken and known to...

Directly across from Blackfriars tube station. 5minutes from St.Pauls cathedral. Concierge Lee was great help in navigating the city, supplying printed directions and obtaining Tower of London tickets. Visit the historic Blackfriars pub across the street.

Comfy beds, good amenities, bathrooms are clean with powerful showers. Staff are really excellent, I've been back several times this year it's now my preferred London hotel when I need to be in the heart of the City. Be aware, this hotel is in an area which is mainly business orientated, as such everywhere busy on Thursday and Friday night...

We have stayed at this hotel many times.  Once again we treated ourselves to a suite. This time we were given room 427 and it is an amazing designer room. It is apparently Paul Smith and one of two British Designer rooms. We loved this room and we will be requesting it on future visits.    This room had air-con and heating...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
