You can not honestly give this dump 1 star.We were there for 6 nights. We would have left right away but we did not want start looking else where.Room was the size of a closet, just a bed.Your belongings go on the floor.Bathroom size only fit for a very small child,no soap, shampoo, etc.Breakfast in deplorable basement, hard boiled eggs, yogurts & toast, that's it,and coffee.Room never... I was aware about the situation as I read the reviews. But... the reality was even worse! The prices are not so cheap as written... especially for the service you will get. Let's be honest, hostels are much better, more cleaned and you'll pay the half, after all. Anyway due to job issues I needed to make the reservation via... More

First off may I say that the staff are very nice and the breakfast was ok. Now that that's out if the way, the rooms are terrible. Tiny, noisy and dirty. The bathroom sink was really slow to drain and could only hold a couple of pints of water so if you brushed your teeth the sink was unusable for... More

We booked a triple room as three of us were working for 5 days in London. We arrived to be given Room 1. A basement room at the bottom of an unlit staircase. It smelt badly of damp and you'd struggle using the toilet as it was practically in the shower. After much discussion with the staff we were moved... More

The hotel was horrible and the staff was rude. Rooms like shoe boxes. This is by far the worst stay I ever had, the staff woke us up at 04:15 to ask for keys with no explanation. The room we got had no window and was just big enough to fit a queen bed, then there was no room for... More

Well this is cheap and a dump, I can cope with 5 flights of stairs, and a basic room, however this just feels unclean. From the smell of damp, to the water stained ceiling, windows which don't shut, a bathroom fit for a smurf. It's not good, it's quite depressing actually 😓😓😓 The bed is okish but I do feel... More

Arrived Friday evening.... total cost for 3 nights was £240, which going off the description was fair money. Given the entry card for room 22...a family room. Bags and child in tow we went up the stairs. Room numbers were on the doors but through unmarked doors so the search ensued. Finding the room and opening the lock held on... More

Quite frankly awful. Booked in for two nights - stayed for one! No refund though they no doubt would have let out our god awful room to some other unsuspecting fool. Room tiny and smelt awful, couldn't have even swung a skinny cat in the bathroom, I'm a pretty average size 14 - glad I'm no bigger, no way I... More

Staff very helpful allowed us to print tickets to an event and didn't charge us. Great variety of continental food for the breakfast. Yes the hotel is small therefore your rooms are tiny but its location and price make up for that! About 15minute walk for underground entrance. Our bedroom was located on the ground floor beside the reception and... More

I was by their cheap rates but it cost me a night's accommodation cost as we checked out 10 minutes after arriving. First, there's no lift so you need to be fit. Secondly, our room was tiny and smelly - basically , uninhabitable. Finally, the WI FI didn't extend to the room so we had to phone another hotel to... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
