CitizenM London Bankside is a perfect place to stay when you are in the area for business. The hotel is quiet, so you can get the sleep you need and has all the amenities that you want - clean, comfortable, fast wifi, great coffee, quick in/out.
Very quirky - the entire room is operated through an ipad....very few staff, lots of orange gnomes. Good bar and very quiet location. The breakfast was basic, so suggest you go elsewhere for that....but the bar was fab!
Like the wardrobe in Narnia, the cupboard doors in Monsters Inc and the Stargates in... Stargate; stepping through the doors of Citizen M is like stepping through a portal, which transports you off of the packed, manic chaos of London and effectively wraps you in a warm, fluffy blanket of quirky décor, Disney films in the lobby and a smorgasbord of cosy seats for all buttock requirements. Naturally this level of chill and comfort partners perfectly with booze and the bar is the beacon welcoming you in and the staff were happy to pick up the challenge of trying to get us drunk. This is where our guide on this merry tale joins the story. Miss/Mx/Dr Raphael Cheasty PhD swanned in ready to change my life on levels hither to undreamt of. Using her skills of analysis (and Irish heritage, which she claims as the source of her bartending powers) Rafe schooled me in what I truly wanted from a cocktail, reviving recipes long forgotten from living memory, to bring me a 'Mezo Meridian' (with the help of her glamourous co-bartender who I unfortunately didn't get the name of, but was equally delightful). A taste sensation, life altering; like Neo taking the red pill I was on a journey down the rabbit hole and enjoying the ride. However, like all the great fables, tragedy struck and timing constraints pulled me away from Rafe's master craft before I was able to absorb more of her tutelage and learn of more cocktail recipes of yesteryear waiting for their resurgence. The experience changed me and the chaos of London felt less dominating, the air smelt cleaner and the people friendlier (or as friendly as Londoner's get). The only change in the circumstances was my experience within Citizen M, with Rafe and co, and therefore this is where the credit must lie. I will never be the same. In Summary: It's a lovely spot to stop a chill. Pop in, sit down, get Rafe to mix you a cocktail and say hello to your new, improved life.…
Clean, modern and great price for central London. Friendly staff and very easy checking in system made a great start to our stay. Room was very clean and comfortable bed. will look at staying again when next in London
modern hotel for the younger clientele. not my cup to tea! in fact no tea or coffee as not provided in the tiny capsule bedroom. Had to climb into strangely laid out bed. toilet and shower in room with translucent walls (had to use lobby toilets) sink in bedroom area. empty fridge provided - no bottled water provided. room service ended at 6am so had to go to canteen at 6am for much needed coffee. only one pillow per person though you can order more. have to order room cleaning which I forgot to do. iPad controls lighting, blinds, curtains, tv and air control which was a bit difficult late at night when quite tired. room very quiet though.
