Stayed two nights for a romantic getaway in the Big Smoke. I really enjoyed this hotel. The pod feel really appealed to me. I liked the clever and well thought-out touches throughout and the eclectic contemporary decor. The room was relatively small and would be best suited to short stays. Storage under the bed is very useful and the shower...

I stayed at Citizen M for 4 nights. The neighbourhood is lovely and clean and very close to the Thames, Tate Modern, The Globe, National Theatre and London Eye. I walked to Covent Garden over Blackfriars Bridge in about 25-30 min. But you can also take bus RV1 straight there in 15-20 min. The room is like a cabin on...

Wonderful hotel and staff. My two sons aged 22 and 20 got lost after night out. The younger son had never been to London before and didn't know where he was. My older son couldn't contact us as his battery was dead. The staff went out of their way to help us find them. The girls on night shift were...

Very good stay at the citizenM London. The staff was nice, check in easy and atmosphere full of good vibes. Love the rooms, you can control everything with a swipe of your fingertips from the bed. Good distance from Tate moden, Borough Market and Tower of London and also walking distance from st. Pauls cathedral and soho area. Would love...

I am a big CitizenM fan. Have now stayed in a CitizenM in London, Paris, Amsterdam and New York. If there is a citizenM then I will stay there. Good rate, great concept, small but efficient room with great bed.Quiet. Outstanding lobby/meeting area/social area where you have lots of options to work, talk, socialize. A great vibe in this place.

Stayed here for a few days with my wife and daughter as she was running the London marathon (rather her than me). Definitely be back next time we are in town, had a lovely double room, very clean and quiet even though it was in the centre of town. Great amenities in the room and all the staff were very...

very nice design hotel close to Tate Modern. Small but confortable rooms (all the same)! Check-in/out via computerscreen.. very easy but when you need support there is always someone of the staff to help you. No waiting... Lobby, bar, living room, dining room... all in the same space, but very very cosy to sit there to drink a cocktail, eat...

Stayed in the Citizen M for London Marathon weekend. Turned up around 2, really liked the immediate ambience and it smelled wonderful. Checked in in seconds, myself. So so easy. Went up to see this supposedly pod-like room and it's absolutely fine. Its not like a pod, as I think someone had said, its a similar size to being in...

I stayed here with my husband on a London vacation. There were a lot of things I really liked about this hotel, but there was plenty to make me hesitate to stay here again. Like: I thought the room looked futuristic and cool: somewhere between a cruise ship stateroom and a post-apocalyptic Kubrick film. The mood lights were fun to...

It's always great to find accommodation that you would be happy to use again and CitizenM was no exception. We spent 7 nights here and found the location excellent. It was within walking distance to the Borough markets, Tate Modern and Globe theatre. We could easily access public transport with Southwark and London Bridge tube stations within walking distance and...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
