I booked the South Place hotel for a base for my sister for her wedding. Due to a misunderstanding with our room, I had the pleasure of speaking to Ahmed. His customer service was excellent. He listened, escalated and found a solution within an hour. 10/10 service. The location is excellent and 1 min away from Liverpool Street. The hotel steamed two dresses for me as complimentary and the ladies that did that did an excellent job and were very sweet. What let the stay down was the front desk staff. From checking in, to just generally passing the desk I found staff to be unfriendly and disengaged. I actually found one of the guys to be dismissive. Never stayed at a hotel of that level with such disengaged staff. Staff would not say hello or ask how you are as you passed them. The service was very disappointing that even when I bought my sister down in her dress to get a taxi there was no offer of help or any engagement. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.…

Attended my nephews wedding reception at this hotel. Stay booked through travelzoo-excellent offer with breakfast included and a free cocktail. Good points :-1. Room-we were upgraded to a deluxe room-fantastic- bed very comfortable as well as pillows(pillow menu if needed). Excellent bath and shower. The shower screen could have been a bit longer, but a flannel placed at the end stopped any water escaping onto the floor. Toiletries, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, iron and board, hairdryer(Dyson) in the room and a bottle of water each each day. Numerous snacks , goodies, soft drinks and alcohol in the room (not free). Tea and coffee free, as well as the water and possibly biscuits. All equipment such as tv etc is high end. I was impressed by the Dyson hairdryer (I want one now) and my husband by the Bang and Olufsen TV. There was an electronic blackout blind. Air con was brilliant. There was a variety of glasses available set out in a drawer. Overall decor was lovely. There was a large freestanding mirror. Food:- we had delicious food at the wedding breakfast. Breakfast itself was ordered via waiting staff from an a la carte menu and was very good. 2. Outside:- there was a lovely seating area outside surrounded by trees which felt like being in Greece or Spain. (Visit was during a heatwave). 3. Location:- excellent . Lots of bars and restaurants near. 5 minute walk one way from Moorgate tube station, 5 minute the other way from the Elizabeth Line and Liverpool Street tube. 15-20 minute walk from Spitalfields market 4. Staff- amazing . All staff were amazing from breakfast waiters to wedding staff and also main receptionists. The room where we were served food in the wedding was extremely hot with no air con as the roof was open. I mentioned to a waiter that we could do with some fans and 5 minutes later they brought fans into the room. Really couldn’t fault them. Bad points:- none other than the price without an offer. I would love to stay in this hotel again in the future when visiting London. …

My stay at South Place was good. The room is very comfortable and the bed, we can say, is the best you will sleep on. Unfortunately, I have faced some maintenance problems in the bathroom, but nothing that the team wasn't willing to fix. When I checked out I received a notification to give a feedback about my stay and I also report the issues for the team. I was surprised by how quickly the team responded back with a meaningful and compensatory email for my next stay. Thank you Bruna for being so kind in providing a solution to the situation. It was pretty much appreciated.

Really enjoyed our anniversary stay over the weekend. We stayed in a Luxury Room which had one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen - enormous marble surround bath at one end, double basins and then a double rain shower. We arrived late morning and the front of house staff were happy to take our bags so we could spend time in London for the day. Then when we returned to check-in, we were told our bags had already been placed in our room - a nice surprise.

Great hotel with a great atmosphere, we had interconnecting rooms and the space was amazing, the rooms were modern and spacious and perfect for our family, service was impeccable and breakfast was lovely, try the pancakes the kids loved them. Amazing michelin starred restaurant, definitely worth a visit, food was amazing! We will definitely be back.

Great hotel, in the city of London, 100 metres from 2 tube stations. Friendly,professional and helpful staff. Good selection at breakfast cooked to order. A consetionary service charge is added, but reception staff offer to remove this from the final bill if required. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Lovely garden roof bar and well stocked hotel bar. I cannot praise this hotel enough. We arrived quite late from an overseas trip with two small kids and the walking proximity from Liverpool Street station, made our long journey so much easier. Even though South Place hotel is in the middle of a very busy part of London, the sound proofing of the room made us all feel as if we were in the middle of the Scandinavian wilderness. And what a room it was! We stayed in one of their Junior Suites and we were all blown away. The room was quite simply, amazing! Everything from the amenities, to the cleanliness, to the very spacious interior (which comfortably allowed our 5- and 3-year-olds to walk around without constantly bumping into each other), to the pillow menu, the mini bar, and to the stunning, enormous bathroom with dual sinks, one of the best rain showers I have ever experienced and a beautiful bathtub which was difficult to get our kids out of, was top notch. The breakfast was simply, incredible. Amazing pancakes, English breakfast and eggs on toast like I have rarely experienced. The staff through out all areas, made our stay so much more enjoyable. We were always greeted in the most courteous manner and our kids, who are generally quite shy, had a blast getting to know all the hard-working staff. I have worked in the hotel industry for the better part of 25 years; from boutique hotels in Scandinavia, to large beach resorts in Asia and luxury hotels in London. South Place is certainly up there on my list and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you for such a memorable stay and for making our boys’ first trip to London so memorable.
