This light and spacious double en-suite is in a beautiful, large, hospitable Victorian family home, only a mile from the Olympic site & Stratford Westfield shopping centre. We offer: excellent transport links to central London; a large garden; wifi; easy access (stair-lift, grab rails etc.); inclusive breakfast (special diets no problem)! Here are the details. • The large double bedroom has an en-suite shower, toilet and wash basin. Free Wifi and laundry facilities are available. • Breakfast is included; evening meals can be provided by arrangement. We happily cater for a range of dietary needs including gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan and meat/fish eaters. • You are welcome to relax in our large garden or in the conservatory, and to smoke in the garden / conservatory (but not in the house).• We are very access-conscious and are more than happy to discuss your needs! The house has shallow steps at the front entrance, a stair-lift to the first floor and three steps up to the bedroom. There are grab-rails through corridors and in the en-suite (where there is a step up to the shower). There are shallow steps into the garden. • We have safe storage for cycles or a mobility scooter and parking for one car on the forecourt (by arrangement).• Local transport offers fast bus/train/tube links to the West End, Central London and Docklands. Forest Gate railway station (in the local shopping centre) is just a 3 minute walk, with the Stratford rail/tube hub just two stops away. Museums, galleries, theatres and West End shopping are therefore within easy reach. Taxis from Stratford station to the house are reasonably priced if you are late home. We look forward to welcoming you to our family home, and will do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and memorable.

❤️【Host】Hazel is a passionate, kind and wise artist. She made me feel like I was living in my own home. When I come to London again, I will definitely book her Grove Guest House without hesitation.
❤️【Location】It is a 10-minute walk from ForestGate subway station. There are British-style buildings nearby, which is quite impressive. It takes only 2 subway stops to reach Stratford, which is full of urban atmosphere and has many shopping malls and food.
❤️【Safety】It is very safe for single women. Hazel also gives a lot of safety tips, which touched me. In particular, she set up a love light at the gate. At night, you can see which one is her home at a glance, and you will never go wrong.
❤️【Breakfast】Hazel cooks English breakfast herself, which is super delicious. It is all my favorite food and is definitely not to be missed.
❤️【Room】It is clean and tidy, and every decoration is full of artistic atmosphere. The bed is very comfortable, not hard or soft, and I slept soundly for 10 hours. A heater is also provided in the room.

I have visited the area many times and this is by far the nicest place I have had the pleasure of staying. Grove guest house is a worthy rival for a branded hotel and would blow a premier inn out of the water.

Hazel is attentive and anticipatory of her guests needs (even managing to find me some sun cream for the sunny day) and is accommodating of guests dietary preferences.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with excellent WIFI connection. The room I stayed in had an en-suite with a very comfortable double bed and lovely Victorian bay window looking out at the other Victorian houses on the tree lined street.

There is on road parking which Hazel can authorise online and I had no trouble finding a space.

The breakfast selection was lovely and I enjoyed the smoked fish with poached egg on the tremendous patio but Hazel had lots of other options for breakfast ( as well as a fully stocked bar).

A very unique point of this guest house is the owner - who is happy to leave a guest to their own devices or equally happy to engage in captivating conversation.

Hazel has a great knowledge of London and is more than happy to share this.

I would like to thank Hazel for the homely and safe stay at her guest house.

If I was to return to London I would stay again 🙂

We've stayed with Hazel on multiple occasions now and every time we walk through the door feels just like coming home. Nobody does it quite like her. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and Hazel always makes sure her guests are taken care of, no matter if you need an extra pillow, a dinner recommendation or simply a cup of tea. Breakfast is included and just so good (Hazel's cheese omelette is a personal favourite). Grove Guest House is 15 Minutes by bus from Stratford Station (Central Line, Jubilee Line, Elizabeth Line, DLR and Overground) and a 5 minute walk from Forest Gate Station (Elizabeth Line, Overground), so it's easy to reach from most airports, as well as the city centre. If you're looking for a home away from home, this is the place to choose.

My friend and I stayed at Grove Guest House for 3 nights in August while my friend was visiting from India. We didn't have too many requirements for our accommodation, we just wanted someplace clean and safe, and affordable. Grove Guest House fit the bill perfectly, and in fact went above and found. Right from the moment she met us at the door, Hazel was the warmest, most gracious hostess we could have asked for. The room itself was perfect - perfectly clean, spacious enough for the two of us, with a lot of natural light coming in through the the large windows, and a very comfortable bed, not to mention the plethora of towels and covers made available for our use. Hazel even made us a cup of tea after we freshened up, and we enjoyed a lovely chat in the colourful little garden behind the house. The room charges include breakfast, which in fact was the best part of our stay here. We always had a hectic schedule, so the delicious and filling breakfast and a morning catch up with Hazel was a perfect way to start the day. The place is also just a 5 minute walk from Forest Gate station from where you could easily take the Elizabeth line to Stratford or London Liverpool, so connectivity is also a breeze.
If anyone is reading this, we cannot recommend this place enough. Get in while you can, you are going to have a memorable stay.
Hazel, if you are reading this, thank you so, so much for everything, and especially the bananas that you insisted on sending us off with everyday, we won't forget it. I hope you are stoked that you now have another two pins in your map !!

In January 2023 I made my third extended stay at Grove Guest House. The rooms are clean and well furnished and very comfortable. Hazel, the delightful and friendly host, is also a local artist and her guest house has a charming atmosphere full of interesting, beautiful things to see. Breakfasts were always hot and delicious and started me off right for day of visiting in London. I am a senior traveling alone, and Hazel made me feel very comfortable.

The guest house is located on a quiet street just a short walk from shops, cafes, restaurants, and the Elizabeth line which provides for easy travel to central London or to the airports. I hope to go back to London and stay at Grove House many more times.

The apartment is in a good location in East London, next to the Forest Gate underground station. The area is nice and within easy reach, e.g. the Olympic Stadium is really close. I like a lot that there are not too many tourists in the nearby area and the place exudes authenticity.

A single room is a good solution if you want a bed, a shower and a good breakfast and spend most of your days adventuring in London. I had a really good time for 4 nights and I can strongly recommend the experience of staying in those places.

This was the best place to stay in London. I could not recommend it more, I will be staying here again when I am next in London (hopefully soon). If you are considering going somewhere else, don't go there, stay here!

It was wonderful to meet Hazel and stay in her beautiful guest house. It is a lovely self-enclosed space, very warm in winter and full of history and life. Hazel was very kind, considerate and helpful, as well as lovely to talk to. The room we stayed in had anything you could need, was very comfortable and private. I also very much enjoy being able to meet someone from where I travel and Hazel was warm and welcoming. I am very much looking forward to staying with her again. (We also had breakfast and oh my goodness so much delicious food!)

Moreover the place is very close to the train station and easy to get around. It was very quiet and if course perfectly clean and also a beautiful house and room (with a hundred year old plant!)

Best stay in London of all the times I've been. Hope to see Hazel soon,

Alex and Brad

The Grove Guest House is an amazing find in Forest Gate. Hazel is the perfect host and the house has a lovely homely feel - perfect after a long flight from Australia. We loved talking to Hazel and finding out about all her crafty projects and achievements - she is a real local legend! We always felt looked after but were also given plenty of space to relax in our bedroom when needed. Breakfast was a yummy bonus and really set us up well for our day of adventures in London. We look forward to staying again someday! John and Nat

This is a Victorian home with all the character you would associate with an older home. Hazel is a wondeful host and has many interesting stories. It is on a quiet street close to the Elizabeth Line line and several bus stops. The breakfast was excellent.

Thank you for your lovely review, You are always welcome here. I always think breakfast is a very important part of a stay away from home. For those reading.... It is included in the room price, served at my Grandma's dining table where guests sit together. I also am happy to make breakfasts that are suitable for special diets such as coeliac, lactose free and vegetarian or vegan.

In December 2023 to January 2024 I made my fourth extended stay in the charming Grove Guest House. As always Hazel made me feel very welcome and was very accommodating of my needs as an elderly traveler. I always feel right at home staying with Hazel when I come each year to visit my family in London.

Throughout the year I follow from afar the activities of the vibrant local arts community that Hazel supports with art activities and sessions, and I delight in seeing their creations in person when I come to London and stay at the guest house. At the heart of such a community and with easy links to central London and the airport it's a fabulous place to be based as a solo traveler.

Hi - Sorry your question only just popped up. 07712295282 is my phone number. Today parking is in the street It is residents restricted 9am to 5pm - but I have residents visiotr permits between those hours (at no charge to your selves). There are single yellow lines now outside the house - but if the driver is coming outside yellow line hours they can park directly in front of the house. Sorry for the delay in answering. Yours Hazel Goldman

Hi We have a station just 3 min walk from here. It is 22mins to the Tower of London by public transport. A great website is Transport for London Journey Planner . London is big. We are on the East side. If you look at a tube map you can find us near the Stratford transport hub. Londons attractions are all over London. For example we are just one mile from the Olympic Park and stadium. So you need to do a little more research about the key places you want to visit and which side of London they are. We are well connected to the tube - so going anywhere in London is fairly easy

Hi Take underground Victoria Line Euston to Oxford Circus, Central Line to Stratford, TFL line to Forest Gate. You could get a taxi from Stratford to avoid the stairs at Forest Gate - would cost about £12. Have you already booked with me? Please tell me your second name and then I can find your booking details and we can communicate by email. All the best Hazel
