Delightful experience last week. Stopped for a quick drink on the terrace with my dog. Doormen were charming and helpful as were the waiters. Lively vibe and great place to people watch. Have attended a screening there recently in their wonderful screening room too! Will absolutely return.
Hotel is lovely but feels weirdly corporate despite all the high end decor. Restaurant for Breakfast is slowwwwww, get the buffet if you care about your time. It wasn’t that great, portions are tiny and service is so slow. Bar- I ordered a martini and received a glass of murky water vaguely scented with olives and vodka- seriously how do you mess up a martini? Literally the worst I had up until that day, and it was nearly 20 gbp- yikes
I stayed here recently and had a brilliant experience. The whole hotel was clean and organized. In particularly, the staff was what made this stay memorable. Patricia was my room service maid and she couldn't do enough for me- helping with anything and everything without even needing to ask and being happy doing so. With my painful hands I struggled opening the windows, to which she quickly helped me with pure kindness.
The best hotel ever, we’ve been coming for 11 years now and it NEVER disappoints. 100% perfection of cleanliness, staff are incredibly helpful and go beyond and above. The Food is First class. The rooms are also wonderfully appointed.
Had a business lunch there. Ordered a trout Niçoise salad and a glass of Riesling. The former was insipid and the latter overpriced. The fish was over cooked and the rest of the salad did not have ANY flavour whatsoever. Not even salt! I am not a chef but I would recommend stepping it up with a dressing of some kind and focus on the elaboration of such a simple dish…especially to sell it for 30£. I do not recommend nor will be coming back, despite having my office nearby would have liked to find a good spot for business lunches.
My 15yo daughter had a summer camp in London and, due to flight schedules, had to spend one night in a hotel after camp and before flying back to the Philippines. We chose the Charlotte Street Hotel because they were incredibly responsive by email (quick and specific) and meticulous about her safety and our permissions. I went with my daughter to visit the hotel about a week before she had to stay there alone for her comfort and to make sure the Charlotte had my in-person approval. We apparently were missing a document (good thing we went early!) which I confirmed had just been emailed to them. Throughout this process, EVERYONE was so friendly and kind. I never felt rushed, only welcome. A manager came out to check on us and double check the email, the doorman pointed us to comfortable seating and the cafe ... just lovely. But THE STORY is this: upon arriving at the airport, my 15yo realized she'd forgotten her passport in her room safe. She called the hotel to ask them to open it and get a car to send it to her. Which they did immediately. They put up with two other parents calling from overseas to make sure they did the same. Passport quickly in taxi, my daughter made it to the gate in ample time to get home. And all this on top of the beautiful, non-intimidating, cozy yet elegant ambience. No other London hotel is more top of mind to me and my family!…
We recently stayed here during a business trip to London. Rooms were nicely designed but a little tired in places. The restaurant was nice enough but nothing to shout about. Cocktails I personally thought were very pricey. I have worked in London for many, many years. I would not return here after experiencing it. Just not to my taste but nice enough.
It had been brought to my attention that over the past 3 years of me being a member of trip advisor o hadn’t done any positive reviews, only the handful of negative ones we’ve experienced so time to song the praises of some of our favourites. We’ve stayed at The Charlotte Street hotel a few times now, both for business and pleasure and If I could rate it higher than 5 then I most certainly would. From the minute you arrive you are looked after by the most wonderful team of staff who can’t do enough for you. The food is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful and the staff really do make this place what it is. Nothing is too much trouble. A true 5* establishment. Couldn’t recommend higher.
My daughter and I stayed here. The hotel has such a vibe with people visiting the restaurant all day and night. The hotel is also situated in a vibey area and a great position . The staff were amazing especially the concierge. There was nothing too big or small! Their recommendations were great. We usually stay at the sister hotel Ham Yard but this is much more reasonable and as convenient. Would definitely return!
Recently enjoyed a truly delightful stay at the Charlotte Street Hotel. Exceptionally comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, comfortable bedrooms and lounges, with beautiful decor and delicious food - but, for me, this hotel stands head and shoulders above the competition purely on account of the magnificent staff! Cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and exceptionally helpful, these persons simply cannot do enough for their guests. We thank them most warmly for all their outstanding care for us and for all our family members. Five stars are not enough!
