I was meant to be staying at the Ibis budget London Whitechapel Brick Lane just along the road but for some reason it had to close due to unforeseen circumstances. I was pleased to have been moved closer to the Tube as I was travelling on my own. Lovely hotel and friendly staff at the desk. It was quite an upgrade from my original budget room but at the same price. A couple of points. The room was rather warm even though the air con was at its coolest. Also housekeeping kept changing my towels every day even though I hung it up. Spacious and clean so glad I'm staying here again next year.
I chose to stay here as it was a very reasonably priced at £180 for two nights and it turns out that wasn't even the best part. It is right next to Aldgate East tube station, which is on the same line as Liverpool Street, from which you can reach pretty much any point in London. Staff were very helpful and pleasant throughout my stay, allowing me a late check-out so that I didn't need to haul my bag everywhere on the day I was leaving. The only minus points were the unstable WiFi and the lack of amenities aside from a bar, but that I didn't mind as my trip was so busy that the only time I spent in the hotel was when I was sleeping. Would definitely be happy to go back here again.
We advise people to stay clear of this Dump. The rooms are absolutely tiny with an actual portaloo bathroom inside the room. The bed was rotten, had toenail clippings ,hairs and stains all over the bed. The other bed in room was a cheap chair bed that folded out. Again stains all over it. Went to reception 4 times requesting to move rooms but we where just looked at and told sorry no rooms. Staff have very broken English and could not understand what we where saying. They came to room and looked and said oh sorry about that. We get new bed linen. 5 mins later they arrived with a big bundle of sheets and duvet which much have been ripped off another bed in another room. Just came in 1 big pile. Handed it to us and the door. Basically no help , make your own beds and change the sheets ourselves. Which is ridiculous, we are here to relax, not to start making beds and doing their job for them. Anyway when we made the beds again we noticed stains all over these so called cleans sheets they had brought us. Cigarettes butts underneath the beds. It was just absolutely disgusting and the worse hotel we have stayed in throughout the world. We decided we couldn't stick this and got no help in relocating to new room that we just left and booked into another hotel for the 2 nights. The staff here are like trainee students that have not got any training or experience in catering, No proper engish for us to even explain properly the issue. But again we didn't need to explain they seen the room for themselves and just stood their silent. Then just threw us some sheets and basically said here you are sort it yourself. This place is a KIP I have stayed in far better Hostels than this dive. Avoid this place as its not only a health risk but the staff have no clue in what they are doing. This hotel was not cheap either it cost over £200 Dirty rooms, tiny rooms and staff shocking You don't even get a proper mattress on the beds. It's a like something you would use on a camping trip. Cost us over £500 to leave this dump and book in to another hotel. Never ever again. This is to warn others Just look at the pics I took and you will see.…
Very clean. The location is perfect, only few steps from underground station. A supermarket just next to it. Walking distance to London Tower. Excellent service and professional staff. I would choose it again.
I had problems with the staff which were unresolved. This made my stay unsatisfactory. I found the staff both unpleasant and unhelpful. Why do you want 200 characters? i have said all I need to say, there is nothing else
