I had quite a good deal on this hotel and payed €82,- a night. I booked it via the Ibis website. The walk-in rate is more than twice this amount, which is way too much for the quality you get. The room is adequate with a good bed and shower. But the shampoo provided is not good at all, so...

Good value and excellent location if you have business in the City and you don't want to pay through the nose for an hotel. Obviously you don't have to expect fireworks from this place, but our room was clean, staff was helpful and above all it's hard to find something better for this price 10 seconds off Aldgate East tube...

Being just outside a tube stop makes this hotel easy to get to via public transport - one of the first things I look for in a hotel. The rooms are fairly basic, but adequate, and kept very clean. A fire on the second floor was quite an adventure on our second morning. I sure felt sorry for the people...

Hotel room was nice, albeit small and basic, but we were happy with it. Lobby is welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is great, right near Aldgate East station and only a (reasonably) short walk to St. Pauls Cathedral, shopping centres, Spitalfields markets and (if you don't mind a bit of walking) the Tate Modern. Hotel is good...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
