I always think people are exaggerating their reviews, but seriously do not book here. The rooms pictured in the listing are a bait/switch scheme. The room we got was awful--three beds in a tiny room, private dirty run down bath with shower that backs up (yuck!). One window with no screen, very unsafe. No air conditioning. It was in the...

We booked a family room for 5 people, the room was basic however it was clean and presentable. The staff where very friendly and had a good knowledge of the local area. The hotel is located right in the heart of Notting Hill giving you great access to Kensington Park and and other local attractions. We fully enjoyed our stay...

After viewing online photos, the hotel looked clean and presentable for the £90/night. The reality: filthy, had a communal toilet in which you couldn't even turn, as when sat on the toilet the elbows ended squeezed against the walls! and wife is small size! The family room we booked said nothing about climbing over one bed to get over to...

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Room was ok. Bathroom was not very nice. Grout in between tiles was black. No hand towel and no shower matt. So floor got soaked when you had a shower. On a plus side we had pastries delivered in the mornings and the reception staff were nice and friendly, close the the...

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which was lovely and clean. But please note this is not like a normal hotel, it feels more like an apartment. Service is not like a normal hotel, we arrive and i had to go downstairs and put my bag in storage, no tags or help with luggage etc which was a bit...

We arrived and could see straight away it was not up to standard; cracked sink and tiles , broken shower(full power and scolding hot or cold dribble were the two options). Toilet door fell off it's hinges. (All of the above is indicative of the general state of the place). We were moved to a top floor room and after...

We arrived extremely late after a concert to find a very friendly front desk person - I had called to say we would be late (1.30am) and he was very reassuring!! Very helpful - free WiFi passes given, tea coffee etc in room. Three comfy beds, washbasin with toilet on the next floor. We were offered free pastries delivered to...

Reception seemed ok and receptionist pleasant enough. Room 4 a disaster - hadn't been vacuumed, no toilet, a plastic shower cubical in the corner that was ready to fall apart! ..with 2 bare strip lights as the only lighting in the room (use: storage room probably). Toilet one floor up and no sink..!! The sheets were clean and new -...

I get the feeling so many places are just like this one. The rooms are small, not exactly cheap, close to subway lines, and a really old and dated building. However, the staff do their best with what they have, so its pleasant enough. I guess its best to get out for the day. Good location for the subway lines,...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
