I stayed at this hotel the weekend of the London marathon as a competitor, our bathroom was smelly the restaurant services were terrible the basic food options unavailable ie chips salad one desert only available from the whole menu, food took ages to arrive. Marathon morning breakfast was not offered early only cereals available before 8am ! The London Marathon is one of the most iconic in the world the hotel charged at lot more than it would of on a normal weekend but offered no extra service, I can assure you running a marathon on a bowl of cornflakes is a joke Info in rooms is non existent we traveled light not hairdryer in room no info in room stating one could be supplied at reception Would definitely avoid this hotel

A 10 minute walk from city airport was the only disadvantage. Room was large with good temperature and comfy bed. Customer service could be improved with staff that actually seem like they want you to be there. Bar was not manned when I wanted a drink at 10pm. Reception staff couldn't be asked to find the barman for me or do it themselves.

This was my second time staying in the Travelodge. The receptionist Amber is so friendly and provides an excellent service. I had troubles with my booking as I wanted to extend my booking for another night. Although the guy over the phone couldn’t do any help and he is from so called central reservation but Amber(the receptionist) sorted all out and helped us to stay one more night. This is a five star service from her. Big up for Amber. 👍 Thank you very much.

Number of issues during our stay at the London City Airport Travelodge....Restaurant had limited food available, first we thought they might be waiting for a delivery but it was the sane every night and staff said its always like that....they had no pizzas because they ran put of cheese. We had a room for 4 people but were only given 3 towels. Had a problem with our room lock, staff tried to help but couldn't fix it, no manager on site and wasn't contactable, had to wait an hour for a manager to call back and then told it would be between 10pm -12am for maintenance staff to arrive, all our belongings were in the room and we had no access, finally got access to wake up to 3 males (maintenance staff) trying to get into the room to fix the lock at 1.50am no one in the hotel told them that we'd been able to get access, the men were very apologetic but very daunting to be woken up by three people trying to get in your room. I suggest you look at alternative hotel if you're planning on staying at the Travelodge London City Airport Hotel!!

I booked a family room under confirmation number 1551341782 on Sunday 28th August to stay with you on Saturday 1st October at London City Airport. I checked in around 9pm after a long day travelling to be checked into a standard twin disabled access room. The family room I booked was for myself, wife and 2 children aged 8 and 4. I was told my family room had been given to someone else who had checked in earlier due to issues with other rooms earlier in the day and because we were later checking in this was the only and last room they had ! I was given the option to try and stay at the excel travelodge but they had no rooms so therefore was a stay or don’t stay scenario. My wife and 2 children had to sleep sideways across 2 beds pushed together and I had to sleep directly on the floor. Worst still the reception lady wrote a note for the manager in the morning as did another reception lady in the morning with my contacts details promising me a call back later in the day from the manager to resolve. No call came and by 6pm on Sunday 2nd October I called the hotel to be told the manager had left for holiday and a different manager would be back from holiday today. No call has come today. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was also very poor there were no plates, plastic cutlery due to staff shortages the front of house waitress said. Overall - appalling customer service. I obviously expect a full refund.

Good no-frills accommodation with friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is 10 minutes' walk from City Airport & its DLR station. Normally you can walk across a foot bridge under Connaught Bridge to Victoria Dock & the Excel Centre but this is not possible currently (September 2022) due to building work so it's necessary to use the DLR from the airport via Canning Town but it's not a long trip & trains are only a few minutes apart. There's some aircraft noise but it's not too intrusive, not too frequent & not at night. The hotel seems to be a good base for visiting London, especially if you're doing something in the eastern half of the city such as the marathon.

General unhelpful of staff. Staff talking to each other instead of helping guests in the bar area. When helping had no idea what to do or how to help. When an issue was brought to their attention, really and attitude of ‘what do you want me to do about it’ and told to come back in the morning. During the morning, a staff member had called in sick and I know this due to the horrendous attitude of some of the staff shouting and swearing about it in reception. Luckily no children present as completely unacceptable and disgusting behaviour.

Food was terrible, no cutlery or condiments with dinner. Pizza undercooked. Single bed in family room was suspiciously looking like a fold up camp bed. I could go on but the only saving grace was the staff. They were impeccable. Each and every one.

The only reason I rate this hotel is because of the excellent receptionist/ bar tender Isilda she was so helpful and I really appreciate it overwise this would of been a 0 no food in the kitchen and no beer!
