I arrived early and the room wasn't ready, but the man who was checking me in took my bag to the room. When I returned my room was a bit warm and I couldn't figure out how to work the remote to get the room cooler. A member of staff showed me how to operate the remote and about 10...

I liked this place so much that even when I had the opportunity to move to a friend's apartment (read: free place to stay in a swanky neighborhood), I chose to remain here! That's about as good as it gets. First, those of us who have sticker-shock with London hotel prices are in for a pleasant surprise. Usually "reasonable rate"...

We had booked into another establishment - it would not be fair to say where at this stage - and were disappointed at what we found . However a short call to the Portobello House, a 5 minutes taxi ride and the welcome received was excellent. Our room was small but very well equipped and clean and the bed very...

We wanted to stay in Notting Hill and this hotel was in a great location for us. A very short walking distance to Portobello Road and the many good restaurants and bars that are situated in that area . Our room was pleasant with everything we needed . We were on the first floor facing Ladbroke Grove for 2 nights...

This establishment adds another level to Dante's Inferno. The good point about The Portobellohell Hotel is that it is spotlessly clean. There is one other point, which I will come to later. The hotel website misrepresents what you will get for the substantial amount you will pay to stay there: A Nespresso machine will be available but you will only...

Dear Guest, Oh dear, you are very cross indeed because we would not give you the free stay you requested. So we were expecting this review. I will try to address the issues you raise. Firstly, we are really very sorry you did not enjoy your stay, but some things you mention are quite wrong, especially the safety issue. We...

A great little hotel. Great staff, homely feel. It's like being a guest in someone's house but with a bar downstairs. Decor is 'shabby chic' but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I loved it. The owner tries really hard to make you feel at home. And it works.

I stayed at The Portobello House for one night with my mother. On arrival we were greeted and helped with our bags. Our room was very clean and well equipped. There was some traffic noise but that is to be expected in London. The bistro downstairs seems popular and we did wonder whether we would hear noise in our room...

This is a lovely hotel. Great value and location. Comfortable beds and very clean. Lovely decor and really friendly staff. However I can't give it more than three stars because I had a room facing Ladbrooke Grove and it is the noisiest room I have ever stayed in ( beats even New York) and I'm on the top floor. I...
