I recently stayed at the Grand for 9 nights. I travel to London once or twice a year for the theatre. 14 shows in 10 days, so I need a place that is within walking distance of most of the theatres, this was a good choice. Having lived in London for 7 years, I am well acquainted with everything the...

If you want a central hotel close to all tourist attractions this is the one,the room was average size and clean,it was quiet at night, and used by quite a lot of business people, I did not avail of breakfast as it was very expensive however two doors up is a great cafe which serves a mean breakfast for half the...

We booked The Grand for separate two-night stays at the beginning and end of our trip to England, reserving two rooms for each stay for my husband and I and 3 teenage boys. We were very satisfied with both of our stays. The room sizes were excellent in comparison with other London hotels, the showers were fabulous and The Grand...

Although my room wasn't ready until 3.45 p.m. matter did improve quickly. The room was spacious and well-equipped and, like most other people, I thought that the location was excellent. Staff were generally friendly and the availability of internet, iced water etc. was appreciated.

This hotel is, by far, in the best location. You are within walking distance to many attractions and the Charring Cross Tube stop is nearby as well. The staff was helpful, and the rooms were very clean. It was great to have air conditioning since it was quite warm there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London (business...

This hotel was wonderful! I was stayed there for 4 nights and I couldn't have been happier with this decision. This hotel is the PERFECT location in London. I walked everywhere instead of relying on the Underground. The rooms were large for Europe hotels. The bed was comfortable. It was very quiet so I rarely every heard people walking down...

We found a fabulous rate on Hotwire for this hotel, and were thrilled with it. The location is excellent -- really can't be beat. Walkable to almost all the major sites, and a block from the tube for everything else. Service was friendly (but we didn't have any special requests), and the room was very new, clean and spacious. We...

Stayed at this hotel on 7th of June had booked a one bed suite as my daughter was coming with us. The room was ok, old fashioned and a bit tired looking. Having had stayed in boutique holtel in Edinburgh I was expecting far more than I got. I asked for assistance from front of house staff on more than...

I agree with many of the other reviews - for location this place is unbeatable. Central to everything. My room, although small, was perfectly adequate for what I needed; basically somewhere to rest my head every night for a week. Could have been a bit claustrophobic for two people or if spending more time there. The "view" from the window...

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.

“Ask for one out the back, we were at the front of the hotel and as you would expect in CENTRAL London it was very noisy all night long”

“None as room facing street is not noisy.”

“The room was small but comfortable. Broken tiles on the bathroom floor, an extractor fan that didn't work and house keeping let it down slightly though. We had to ask for additional drinking glasses and the bins weren't emptied daily or the glasses washed - no big deal though we just did it our selves. We reported the extractor fan and were promised it would be fixed but it wasn't. ”

“We were offered a cheap upgrade to a studio room and took it. Probably worthwhile for a longer stay.”
