This pub is now called The Norfolk Lurcher. But confusingly the signs to it still refer to the Ugly Bug! Anyway there was a good atmosphere and a nice welcome from the staff when we arrived for dinner last week. The drinks seemed reasonably priced. The food is averagely good, but not hugely inspiring. My chap enjoyed his duck, the...

We stumbled upon the Ugly Bug whilst looking for an anniversary meal, just googled local restaurants and it popped up in a list of many, i don't know what made it stand out but so glad we chose it! The restaurants daughter and son in law were exceptionally inviting, smiley and chatty, what a wonderful front of house team! The...

Lovely cosy inn. Food average+. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and beer. Quite difficult to find as it is right out in the country. What else can I say to fill up the 200 word minimum except blah blah blah blah

Enjoyed a family meal in a lovely location. Good food and friendly hosts made this three generation family meal very relaxed. Local produce ( including goat) on a varied menu. We booked and on arrival sat by the open fire and chose our food with help from the staff who knew all about the produce including the samphire. Menu had...

Spent 2 night at The Ugly Bug Inn and it was such a relaxing experience. Very warm and friendly family that run the venue. The rooms are small but have everything you need inside them. Further more the food is excellent, such great value and great selection.

The worst sirloin steak I've ever experienced.asked for medium rare, arrived with not a hint of juice to be seen.Didnt even look like sirloin.i could have done a better job in my kitchen. I tried the Ugly bug on a friends recommendation, I normally use the red lion in Cringleford where the steak is always cooked to perfection. At the...

We were told that this was an above average pub for food and I must say the food was good (if a little overpriced). However, the pub itself was dark and tired looking inside and out. Upon arrival we were told to take a seat in the bar and the Maitre D came over and gave us the menus. When...

After travelling 100 miles to meet my 3rd cousin and her husband who we traced whilst researching our family tree, we were certainly impressed by their recommendation to have lunch here. A warm welcome followed by drinks from the bar and a choice of seating, we chose the outside eating area under the cover of the grape vines overlooking the...

We received a warm welcome from the land lady and sat down with drinks before our evening meal. Menus were brought to us and when our food was ready we were seated at our table. The food was plentiful, of good quality and well presented. It was all delivered with a smile. This is a very nice quiet location with...

Our room was very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated with good bathroom and plenty of hot water. Unfortunately breakfast was very disappointing. We didn't want a cooked breakfast, and very little was left on the buffet as a big party arrived just before us. We asked for the yoghurts, melon slices and muesli to be topped up, and yoghurts and...
