We booked a table for 6 @ 6 on recommendation of fellow campers… to celebrate a family member’s birthday… the service was second to none despite several large parties in at the same time.. the staff really seemed to enjoy their work and making each customer feel special… the food was incredible and served beautifully… I would highly recommend for dinner … reasonably priced too for the quality of food … extra special complements to the manager for being so helpful, the slim waitress with long blonde hair in a ponytail and the chef … will definitely return when back in the dales xx

Stayed 2 nights room 9. Really liked the hotel, great location in centre of settle. No hotel parking but stayed first night (Sunday) free in market square and helpfully given a pass for the following morning. There is a pay car park 5 mins away with reasonable prices. Room very clean and tastefully modernised. Initially felt quite small but in practice had no issues. Bathroom again looked small but very clean, good shower and toiletries. Only issues is room 9 is on the main road so was unable to leave window open on hot nights. Excellent quality breakfast and bar/restaurant areas high standard. Had evening meal on second day which we really enjoyed. My partner had rib eye steak and I had settle pudding pie which would highly recommend. Overall really good quality and perfect location for exploring the dales. Staff were really friendly and helpful and would certainly stay again.

After a long walk and extensively reading the menu prior I was drawn into the place. Having finally decided on the roast of the day I was disappointed 😞. The roast potatoes were really hard and we were presented with pork chops. Drinks great, staff great. Roast poor.

Went in as a walk in service when the place was virtually empty after hearing recommendations (Im sure the food was lovely but rarely received the experience) and was declined service by staff who seemed to just be lounging around idly, declined rather rudely but were welcomed with open arms at the royal oak further down the road!

I called in last week during my weeks stay in Settle. I did not eat but sampled a few pints of Thwaites. The staff were lovely and coped with the fact that my phone did not like the "app" that was needed to order drinks. The ales was good and the beer garden really pleasant after a hot day walking in the Dales. I do hope that with the easing of restrictions they do not rely on people using an "app" to order.... going back to a pen and a pad and some chit chat with the service staff would be far better.... but overall I would defo recommend calling in the TGL...
