Stayed 13th to 17th July. The hotel is in an ideal location with views across the sea, harbour and also the abbey. No problems at check in.There is a revolving door at the entrance to the hotel, but also a normal door to the side of this. So why people make an issue of this, is beyond me. The lift...

We stayed here for 4 nights. This is a Shearings hotel and therefore appears to mainly cater for coach parties. Our main reason for staying was that with a sea view room, which we booked, looking over the harbour to Whitby Abbey, you get a magnificent view. The staff are very helpful and friendly, but the hotel decor is overdue for...

Thank you for sharing your review. The views from many of our rooms are some of the best Whitby has to offer. Refurbishment is an ongoing project with over half of the rooms having been done over the past couple of years and some public areas also. I will pass your comments to the team and we hope you will...

This is a Shearings Hotel....as such Shearings plus National coaches come and go at all times. I got wet through making several trips to the car to bring our luggage in. No porter around only a receptionist but no offer made whatsoever to assist me. (I am 77 my husband is 84 with a serious chest complaint.) Forward to the...

Thank you for sharing your review. I’m sorry to see you were disappointed with certain aspects of your stay, although I do believe a number of the issues could easily have been rectified during your stay. Porterage is always available from reception and as you state the wardrobes are of a more modern size hence why we choose not to...

we booked a standard plus room but asked for a refund which we received as it was basic. Clean and tidy and any requests dealt with immediately. I would stay again as in a lovely spot on the west cliff.

Extremely well organised, bus tour with Shearings from Dorset to Whitby (via London) Didn't even have to worry about transfer of luggage, all done as part of the great service. Having returned from Spain, we wanted to revisit Whitby. We last called in there as part of a tour by rail from Gainsborough, through Settle and Carlisle, and then Filey and Hull back in 1999 following a reunion of the college class of ’62.
