The immediate view of the castle front hides what is rather a disappointing building in terms of where you stay inside the complex. The castle part was in the main, just the reception and a bar, apart from the priory, the rest is modernised old buildings or modern stone attachments. Your accommodation is within a series of outbuildings, some of...

We're very sorry that you were disappointed with your stay at the Centre. The main house, when built in 1813 was actually called Claremont Lodge. James Wilson bought the Manor of Sneaton in 1820 including the Lodge and decided to convert it to a castle, apparently to resemble a castle which had stood at Sneaton! We try hard not to...

Booked a single room over the Easter weekend and was extremely please with the price, location, grounds, staff, room and the food. Castle - The gardens & walkways are immaculate and very pretty. Staff - Warm, friendly, helpful & welcoming. Food - Only had breakfast, choices galore & in a beautiful Garden Room setting with a big open log fire...

Well on booking, I did mention to the receptionist that we will probably be arriving very early and if room was ready would it be possibly to check in early. The lady said of course if the room hasnt been used and is free then no problem. On arrival at 8 am the receptionist was taken aback a little when...

Thank you for taking the time to review our bed and breakfast accommodation. I'm very sorry that you felt our rooms and service were average. We are very happy for people to check in early if rooms are available but the Duty Manager, Jill quite rightly wanted to check the room and took the view that an 8 am check...

This centre is adequate, food is tasty but basic. In a conference situation, rooms are small and not not en-suite and there are limited showers to number of rooms. Staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Thank you for your review. Our food is prepared by cooks who have to cater for all tastes. As we serve a set menu at dinner, it needs to be popular dishes such as steak pie, lasagne etc that the majority will eat. We do prepare dishes for vegetarians, vegans etc and those will special diets. We have ensuite rooms...

Located on the outskirts of Whitby. Just a few minutes from Whitby "Park and Ride" which costs £2-50 return. 20 mins walk from the town centre. There is plentiful free car parking at the castle. Set in beautiful grounds that are well tended. Extremely popular so advance booking recommended. Different classes of rooms available. On this visit I stayed in...

Sneaton Castle Centre is easy to find off the 171 on the road into Whitby and is close to the sea. The grounds are so spacious and perfect for walking and talking or just enjoying the fresh sea air and well kept gardens. The single room I stayed in, M12, was compact, clean with high quality shower room, TV and...

Delightful setting and grounds, close to the sea but away from the noise and hustle of the town. Peaceful, calm atmosphere, informal and friendly. Comfortable rooms, quite simple but with everything required for comfort and convenience. Spotlessly clean everywhere and excellent food served in the lovely Garden Room. Great value for money.

Thank you for your review. Nice to hear you found us on Laterooms and were happy with your last minute booking. We are one mile out of town and as you say, it's downhill (we can show you a short cut!)

Went to Whitby spur of the moment. Couldn't find any accomodation on getting there. Another hotel suggested Sneaton Castle. Phoned a very helpful receptionist who gave me a choice of rooms. Chose a twin ensuite room to be used as a single. £10 single supplement still made the room very affordable. Only a mile outside the centre of Whitby. 20...
