I brought my girlfriend here for a surprise visit to Whitby for the night as a little get away and treat. She was blown away with how quaint and lovely the room in Shepherds Purse was. We stayed in Room 2 and on arrival we had 2 cut roses waiting on the bed with the folded towels which was a...

As always, it was a pure treat to stay here. We have stayed here before and will definitely go back again. We stayed in room 2, which was a cosy, romantic room, very clean and warm with the wonderful view of the courtyard. Our motorbike was welcomed and we parked outside our room. Thank you for a brilliant stay! See...

Lovely place to stay, no food included but dozens of places to get breakfast, rooms really clean, bed REALLY comfortable , only criticism was having to share a bathroom with room 7 , i suppose a sink in the room would have been preferable , however it wasn't a problem just inconvenient so choose a room other than 6 or...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in room 1 at the shepherds purse and I can find nothing bad to say. Our room was on the ground floor with its own little outside space. You are right in the middle of town but sat here in the peace and quiet your a million miles from anywhere. The...

We stopped over the bank holiday weekend for my girlfriend's birthday at the Shepherd's purse and had a wonderful time, the room was neatly laid out with fresh flowers and had a four poster bed and jacuzzi bath. Location was quiet despite being in the centre of Whitby thanks to the rooms being located in a courtyard. The staff were...

Wonderful stay at this little gem of place hidden away on the back streets of old Whitby. We stayed in room 3, with the brass bed, which was beautiful, clean, romantic and had some lovely touches like fresh coffee and dried infusions. Although quite small, it was cosy and had everything we needed so that didn't matter in the slightest....
