Wow! Just got home after a 4 night stay in cottage no35! Gutted to be home! Absolutely stunning location and cosy, comfortable cottage! Lovely little place very homely and all the staff are very friendly. We didn't use the pool but looked nice. The cottage was very nice everything thing in there you would ever need! Beds also very comfortable!... More

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, the first was through Sykes Cottages and this time via Hoseasons. We stayed in No13. The cottage was as expected, clean but could do with a but of TLC but what do you expect with the high footfall. The bath was small and narrow but they make the most of the... More

We stayed in a Hoseasons cottage - no.22 at Captain Cook's Haven, during October half term (2016). Firstly, I asked Hoseasons for the addressed of the resort via email and didn't hear back from them until half way through our holiday (not helpful). Please note, we received no correspondence from Hoseasons detailing the resorts address, after booking - which was... More

Reception: Easy quick check in. Not overly friendly but helpful (but see note below). Accommodation: First, the step leading into the property needs attention. It is very shallow with a large overhang (see picture). My wife, unsighted by the bag she was carrying in on arrival tripped and fell. She recently had a replacement hip operation and it could have... More

Captain Cook's Haven is in a wonderful location overlooking the river Esk, with steam trains passing by, and within a 20 minute walk of Whitby. The grounds are well kept and the staff were welcoming on our arrival. Unfortunately, our cottage, number 41 was rather disappointing. It was looking rather tired and in need of refurbishment in some places. There... More

Bit of a distance from the centre of town but the cottages are well presented and you are right by the river with a view of the NYMR steam trains going past . Pool is nice and staff are helpful. We've been here a few times now and loved it every time. If you want to walk into town the... More

Lovely cottage, lovely area. Everything you need and very comfortable. Very pleased we gave it a try and will go again. Our grandson loved the crabbing at the river behind the cottage! Just booked to spend another week here next year. My family liked it so much! Four of us stayed in Endeavour Cottages this year but are going to... More

As a family we have been coming to Captain Cooks Haven for around 5 years. We have a dog, so we are limited to the Adventure Cottages, but we have never been disappointed. Staff have always been helpful and the small reception has plenty of local info available. Should you want to use the indoor pool a £5.00 deposit is... More

We stayed in no 13, which was at the bottom of the site. The setting is beautiful, with great views. As rail enthusiasts, my party loved being able to open the front door and see the steam trail chuffing past regularly. We arrived to find a half pint of milk in the fridge which was a lovely gesture as we... More
