Loved the ambience of this restaurant! Reminded me of Jamaica Inn! Excellent food, good price-£30 for 2. We were staying at Raithwaite Hall so we wanted to eat at night that was near and cheaper. I recommend and staff service excellent. X

We went as a family on Mothers Day, and I must say the meat was very disappointing. I had lamb which was tough, another person had pork which apparently was inedible and my god daughter had beef which was also tough. I have been many times and thoroughly enjoyed, but I think its maybe time to try elsewhere.

called in on spec for Sunday lunch, short wait but well worth it. Beef and pork (standard lunch fare) but portion sizes were excellent, vegetables cooked perfectly for us (slightly Al dente) all in all a very satisfying meal and look forward to returning for an evening meal.

stayed with a number of friends for 1 night in March. The welcome was lukewarm but things improved from there. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable and the food was good despite quite a limited selection for vegetarians. Really nice touch was a glass of bubbly and a song for my wife's birthday. So all in all a really...

This place is amazing to look at, the foods good too but it just seemed the staff were not pleased for us to be there. I'm not sure if it's because we took our 7month old daughter( whos good as gold) or if it was because they knew that the food would make up for their incompetence. It took so...

We came here for a Sunday lunch, and boy did we get a Sunday lunch. I had beef and they kindly did a meat selection for my husband. Absolutely gorgeous, a wonderful and different selection of veg. Not got a 5 though because you need a dog friendly (covered) area for dog owners to eat with their woofers, you would...

overnight, just the one, and what a treat! Dinner excellent, with an excellent wine! The room, underfloor heating, but it was a cold night so we were supplied with a heater. We did not need it, but it was supplied! Breakfast what a treat, eggy bread! Better than Mothers. All round the best, but the egg was fried, I know...

After an exhausting week we decided to call in for late lunch on way back from Newcastle hospital to scarborough on a dreary day! Fabulous welcome, log fires, spectacular views and 5 star food. Always lovely. We can recommend this place to anyone
