Good honest food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Good range of guest beers and international pints. The Guinness went down well on St Patricks day. We had the Korean Chicken Skewers, Hotpot and the Risotto and all were lovely. Good family pub.

Stayed overnight on a business trip to York. The Grey Horse Inn is a friendly, local inn just outside of York. Much more interesting than a cut and paste chain hotel, with good facilities and home-made cooked breakfast. Would happily stay again.

I was visiting the nearby Yrkshire Air Museum, so decided that an overnight stay was in order. I selected The Grey Horse because of its proximity. I was certainly not disappointed with my stay here. The room was more than adequate with sufficient furnishings, and a very comfortable bed. Typical of a pub, there is a fair amount of noise...

The attention received by the employees can only be labeled as outstanding. Relaxed rural environment, good dinner service and tasty full english breakfast. Highly recommeded for couples looking for a different experience not far from York city center.

What a lovely meal we had on Saturday night! 1st October. Good atmosphere and fantastic food! Steaks were cooked to perfection! Service very good. Variety of beers all kept and served very well. Can't wait to visit again !

Well cooked without being exceptional. Place is limited in terms of space and layout. Staff are friendly and costs are reasonable. Plenty of competition around with better grounds etc. for outside eating.

We went to The Grey Horse on Friday evening. We were a party of 7 and I have to say that everything that everyone had was absolutely gorgeous. I must say that usually when there is a lot of us then someone is unfortunate but all the meals starters, main courses, and desserts were excellent.

My partner and I had a nice Sunday lunch at the Grey Horse late in 2015 sitting in the nicely decorated upstairs restaraunt. Having eaten regularly at another lovely establishment this year, we were looking for somewhere different today and remembered the Grey Horse. Although the main pub downstairs looks nice (both as a bar and for a bar meal/Sunday...

We were disappointed to learn that you were unhappy with your recent Sunday lunch. Our staff always do their best to ensure that customers are made to feel welcome. I do not believe that in your case this was any different. During your meal you were asked by your waitress with a smile if she could get you anything else...

Found this great little pub/B&B for a night stay as was going to a wedding in nearby Thorganby. On arrival (1hour early) was greeted by a very friendly bar staff who took us up to our room and gave is the run down of eating times etc....... We then went for a quick drink and bite to eat in the...

Room could use a little update, everyone was very friendly, nice location, old world charm, food was great, local hangout with trivia on Thursdays. We drove and ample parking in back, car park and bus into York was very convenient. Maybe 20 minutes total trip
