This guest house is 17 minutes from the railway station, walkable but it's quite a distance if you have a lot to carry. There is only one bus passing the closest stop and it comes every half an hour, so I often chose to walk to the city centre instead of waiting. Around the guest house is a quiet residential... More

A very warm welcome to this comfortable guest house located about 15 minutes walk from York city centre. Good rooms. Shared bathrooms are not a problem. A wide choice for breakfast to suit all tastes.

I stayed here with my partner at the end of June. The b and b is in a great location, only a 10 minute short walk from town and about £5/6 in a taxi. The rooms were excellent size with everything that you would need for a break away. It was very clean and comfortable and the bed was very... More

Stayed here for two nights. Parking permit available. Ten to fifteen minute walk to center of York. We had a room with an ensuite. Accommodation was excellent and comfortable. Cooked breakfast was excellent. The host was very obliging and hospital. Overall a very pleasant stay and throughly recommend.

The guest house is very nice. It's clean and comfortable and has everything you need. I had an en suite room. The beds were terrible (too soft and in need of new mattress) they did provide a board for under the mattress which slightly improved it. Bathroom was a good size and very clean. The room was lovely. Breakfast was... More

This was our first B&B experience, but one of many on our England trip. The bar was set high after staying here. The service was amazing, the owners are wonderful. The guest house is immaculate, the rooms, spotless and the breakfast amazing! The location is great for walking in to York, it's in a great neighbourhood. Another benefit was that... More

Good: - 10 min walk from train station, great in good weather. If it rains, you can take the "1" bus and stop at KFC - but you'll still have towalk through the park to get to the place. - Excellent full breakfast - Lovely rooms and beds. Best in room tea/coffee sets in room I've ever seen, compete with... More

Really enjoyable stay! The guesthouse was welcoming and spotlessly clean. We couldn't fault it. The staff are great. The breakfast was brilliant and piping hot and plentiful. This is the first time we have been to York and won' t be the last and we will certainly return to the " Farthings "

Location About 15 minutes walk from York station. The immediate area features an attractive parade of independent shops & cafes. Accessibility Ground floor but not step free rooms available. Steep stairs to all other rooms. Noise Quiet residential area so no issues with traffic noise. Very thin internal walls so creaking doors, slamming fire doors etc unfortunately an issue especially in... More
