Excellent location, @5 mins walk to city, plenty of parking available (altho I didn’t stay on wkend), take your own pillows if can (extremely uncomfortable) wifi not great, couldn’t get on first night
Decent hotel for the price, short commute to the city centre. The free car parking is outstanding for York. The hotel also has a bar/ breakfast area, which is nice. Overall I was happy with the stay and the staff where very polite and helpful
Stayed for a couple of nights. Not even 10 minutes walk to the centre and compared to other locations within the walls was a decent price. Rooms culd be considered basic but all we needed was a decent bed and a bathroom - we were out the rest of the time!!
I am usually very happy with Travelodge rooms but not keen to repeat my recent experience in York where I found a pair of 'pre-owned' ladies underwear between the bed sheets.. plus TV wasn't working. Staff at reception were apologetic but not great.
The hotel was fine, no issues. The staff wS very accommodating and helpful. I would visit again. They guided me where to go around York all the landmarks I wanted to see and they marked all on a map for me. Very helpful.
Everything went according to how we expected and planned. Could have been better with more parking spaces, a little limited certainly if you're a later arrival guest! Handy for city centre tourists, with bus service across the road if you don't fancy walking, although not too strenuous to walk into city.
Very good travelodge with a manned reception. Quiet clean and well maintained. Did not use breakfast or bar facilities. Free parking was an extra bonus. Shame the Costa’s was drive through only but useful to have one there
Ideal location, within walking distance to city centre. Free hotel parking for duration of our stay. Very quiet, cleanand comfortable fulfilling all our requirements. We would definitely stay here again.
Really clean comfy room - mattress was really comfy as was the pillows. Staff friendly and helpful. The only negatives were: The shower wasn’t very powerful, the breakfast wasn’t as hot as we’d have liked and when we arrived we were lucky to get a parking space. I hadn’t realised that they didn’t guarantee a parking space before I booked. “Parking available” slightly misleading …
The hotel room was not clean. There were hairs in the bathroom and stains on the walls and even the ceiling. The toilet door did not stay closed so we had to prop something up against it for privacy. Part of the toilet door handle fell off at one point. Most, if not all, of the furniture was scuffed and in need of maintenance and general upkeep. There was a light bulb missing from above the bed. Although it's not the hotels fault, the noise from people using the Asda cash point at the back of the hotel, and then handbrake turning and zooming off throughout the night meant we barely slept at all. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it.
