Where to start..... We went here with friends who had booked it for a surprise. Indeed, it was a surprise for all of us. The beds looked like someone else had slept in them and they had just been remade. Full of hair and crumbs. The crockery, pots, pans, glasses etc was dirty and mismatched. The dishwasher smelt dreadful. The floors were filthy and looked like they hadn’t been mopped. It also looked like it hadn't been hoovered for months. It was very cold inside. We slept in jumpers and trousers. The showers were full of slime and mould. The shower floor was covered in hair, the toilet stained and the underside of the toilet seat had faeces on it. We booked 3 nights but decided to leave after the first night. We attempted to speak to a toothless cleaner who had zero interest. A taller older female who was equally as rude and simply told us it had nothing to do with her, she's not a cleaner and walked off carrying on a conversation with another person swearing using the f word in a space of 2 minutes more than l've heard in months. I was later told she was indeed a cleaner, but who knows. The local cigarette shop must be kept afloat by the Darwin staff. In and around a lodge the cleaners appeared to work from, staff were always outside literally chain smoking. I'm glad we're not paying their wages......... maybe we are or on that weekend anyway. It's suckeres like us that keep them in a job they don't deserve. We attempted to talk to a person at the bar as reception was unmanned. The male behind the bar was rude, sarcastic and not bothered at all. At this point we gave up. Collected our things and just left. Absolutely appalling all round. I wasn't going to do a review, but each time l think about it, it just makes me mad that people take your money for nothing. We didn't request a refund, they can keep it. Perhaps they can buy some clean sheets and cleaning products. On the plus side, the area is lovely. Not Darwins. Never again.

Stayed here on the weekend under no circumstances should you stay in this lodge over winter. It is not equipped for it, it was freezing during the night in each room, we did advise reception and asked for more blankets but the matter was not looked into. Staff are pleasant. Some rude who advised the girls to go into town but it’s a abit “pricey” insinuating that we could not afford this which was quite an insult. My parents who are of elderly age could not stay and had to leave the first night due to the cold. The stuff the room comes equipped with is also awful one toilet roll in each bathroom between a lodge for 8. Would I stay here again never. I’ve used hoseasons for a couple of years but this lodge was one of the worst. I’m also down £800 and a ruined 30tn birthday.

This place should be done for false advertising . The king lodge is actually a room in a building with 3 other rooms - 2 up 2 down but your not told this . Also there is no parking - a drop off point only with a 15 Minute walk from main car park to room with no street lighting whatsoever . We got to room that was up a flight of stairs - my partner has a spine condition and cannot do stairs . So back to reception to explain we had booked a accessible room . Waited 35 mins while they found a G/F room , with the receptionist complaining . Got to the new room - key didn't work . Back to reception to more eye rolling and a second key . Finally got to room- smelt like wet dog - 2 plug sockets hanging off wall and lamp broken . Decided to book a table For dinner - Jordan guest experience manager is the rudest person I have ever seen working in hospitality . He really is in the wrong job . Arrogant and sarcastic in his tone . The place was full of chavs groups of kids carrying boxes and boxes of drink into the hot tub lodges - drinking shouting and partying all night . Security never answered the phone when partying was still going at 3am ! Oh and housekeeping also come into your room EVERY day to make bed . This wasn't mentioned and was intrusive . Would NEVER stay again

We have recently been to Kilnwick Percy resort for our Autumn break. We stayed in Lodge 34 - The Millington deluxe lodge. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful - spacious, clean and exceptional views of the golf course. The hot tub was perfect and very private. Extremely comfortable bed - infact the most comfortable we have had at any lodge (and we’ve stayed at a few!) Good pillows. Towels provided and robes/slippers and miniature toiletries for the master bedroom occupants. (The robes are one size and not very generous so for us voluptuous ladies it’s worth knowing!) A few minuscule touch ups required but nothing that would interfere with your time there. Only recommendation I have for the lodge itself, especially for being ‘dog friendly’, is to have a secured area out of the back door, perhaps a balcony area or even just a fence surrounding the decking so you can freely let your dogs roam. It was quite annoying having to put the dog on a lead every time he wanted to go outside because the site itself requests that dogs are on leads throughout the site. The spa was nice, small but enough room for what is needed, I had an Indian Head Massage and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband made use of the gym each day we were there and had nothing but positive things to say. The Glasshouse restaurant was lovely. We didn’t have a bad meal (evening meal) however I would say the selection is very minimal and the whole restaurant isn’t dog friendly so you do need to book. Breakfast stops at 10am to allow lunch to start at 11 which is abit early really when your on holiday so we didn’t make use of breakfast there. We also had takeaway pizza which was ok. It does say on the welcome email that they offer delivery for their lodge guests - this is incorrect and it is collection only. The area is nice, can hear a pin drop and no loud mouths in the evening which is always a win. A nice nature trail walk nearby but again, abit frustrating keeping the dog on the lead because it’s surrounded with a golf course. Lakeside walk down at the Buddhist temple is worth a trip to and the World Peace Cafe. Millington Woods is a short drive away and a lovely walk however go prepared because it’s largely uphill and steep steps - not particularly leisurely! Overall a lovely holiday and would probably return but would like to see it a bit more ‘dog friendly’ next time.

Some very good things but some awful things too. The good first. The reception staff and golf guys were very welcoming. The golf course is kept to a high standard and the greens were excellent and a very tough(but fair) putting test. Lodges were well equipped and very clean. Now the bad! The restaurant however was a disappointment. We were advised on booking that Dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. Not long after we had ordered another booking arrived with two dogs in tow and were seated about ten feet away from us. The dogs barked throughout our meal meaning we had our dining experience spoiled. They also fed the dogs from bowls on the floor at their table. We asked the server (Jordan) why dogs had been allowed in the restaurant and he mumbled something about the area was classed as the bar in a sarcastic tone. The area clearly forms part of the restaurant. We also asked him if he thought it was hygienic for him and his colleague to be patting the dogs and then serving food. (No hand washing was carried out) Again we were met with some sarcastic waffle about their high hygiene standards. Don’t think they understand that dogs can carry E. coli or the mechanisms of cross contamination. As a side note Jordan also spent much of the time we were there wide mouth yawning without covering his mouth and at one point putting his foot on a storage rack to the side of the bar in the restaurant to tie his shoe laces. This chaps manner we found was far from suited to a job in hospitality. We never used the restaurant or bar again during our stay. It’s a shame this area lets your establishment down.

Lovely and quiet location. Easy to get to. We stayed in lodge 22. Lodge was very clean. Kitchen basically equipped but enough for a 2 night stay. Hot tub was also very clean. All staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. A couple of us had spa treatments and they found them to be good value for money. We had an issue with one of the windows, this was reported to reception and the issue was resolved within an hour. Food at the clubhouse was very nice and good value. Drinks were reasonably priced. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay and would definitely go back again.

Stayed here in early August , lodge was impressive with views of the golf course. It was thou slightly dated but had everything we needed except air conditioning or a fan, which as we stayed here during the heatwave would have been beneficial. The site and lodge was spotlessly clean, and the hot tub was nice, thou as it didn’t ,any way of regulating the heat manually, it just got too hot by late evening each night . Site was in quite a isolated location with nothing much on site, a small gym, a clubhouse and a large golf course. Nothing for children not even a few swings or a slide. Not sure we would return as it as too quiet for us as a family and not enough activities, but if you want a quiet peaceful get away from the hustle and bustle , then this is the place for you.

We booked for 3 days for my daughters wedding. The lodge had no cleaning items e.g. washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, teatowels, bin liners and no complimentary toiletries. Staff were unhelpful, not friendly, unaccomadating and disjointed. some things we took and left at reception for the wedding got lost!! No one took any responsibility for this !! It seemed they knew their regular golfers and looked after them but as we were only there for the wedding they treated us and made us feel like intruders.

A boys trip away and we weren’t dissapointed. If you go you have to meet Ken, absolutely fantastic man and made our whole experience at KP 10X better! The lodge is clean and staff are extremely friendly! Facilities are great and we were even offered an early check in. We’ll be back again soon without a doubt!! Don’t read the bad reviews the lodges are fantastic and more than worth the price tag!

We stayed for a long weekend over the bank holiday and stayed in lodge 27. The accommodation was spotless when we arrived, beds made up for us, robes and slippers and towels were provided. Little touches like dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and tea towels really made the difference. The beds were comfortable and furnishings were lovely. The hot tub was amazing and the view to the golf course was beautiful. We took the walk a round the course which was about 2 miles and really manageable for kids. The spa treatments were wonderful, staff in the spa were friendly and very good at what they do. We ate at the restaurant which was really reasonable and the food was great. Highly recommend this place. The staff work hard and take pride in what they do and this was really evident. Enjoy your stay!!!
