Another great stay. However, it would have been much better if I could have had a hot meal. Breakfasts were good, but one had to be up early to get the best variety. Staff were very helpful, smart + pleasant. Rooms were nice + clean, with basement rooms being a really good size. Sleep quality is dependent upon who you...

Service wasn't good. No info about the hostel at checkin and staff were never very friendly. Myself and others in my room had no idea about other showers available upstairs. so we struggled share the one bathroom in our 12 bed room. They just need to be friendlier and more focussed on customer service. A simple smile goes a long...

A very quiet hostel! There are no kitchen amenities, so be prepared to eat out. The bathroom/shower situation in a 12 bed dorm is not well planned- 12 people have to share a cramped combination toilet/sink/shower that makes the logistics difficult. Nice, knowledgeable staff.

The location was great and the facilities (except the bathrooms/shower) for the dorm rooms were as in most hostels. The 12-bed dorm rooms are ok especially because of the curtains around the beds - but the bathrooms were too small and not enough - and too close to one of the bunkbeds.

Myself and 3 friend shared a 4 bedroom room on Easter Sunday. The hostel is easy to find in an excellent central location. There is no parking but we parked 10 mins walk away in The Shambles car park. The hostel is very well kept and cleaning is done to a high standard. Our room was on the top floor...

I'll start with the pros: Everyone who helped us was lovely, the hostel is well located and spacious, and the common spaces were clean . The cons: We stayed in an ensuite room, which have tiny little closets for bathrooms. The toilet, shower, and sink are all crammed together such that you could shower your feet while on the toilet,...

This hostel is very pretty but thats about it. the wifi does not work well in the room, bed and pillow were terrible,my back hurt a lot now. The toilet and shower very not handy because it was very small and had to share 1 shower and 1 toilet for 10 person and it was not clean. ( not hot...

Good things: Location is good and staff is friendly. Bad things: The bathroom was tiny and very uncomfortable. Water was cold at some points. Bed was OK but there was a kind of piping smell coming from somewhere and that was not nice at all. It is fine for one night as the price is ok and the place is...

I've stayed here countless times since around 2010, it has never let me down, lovely staff willing to help if needed, really comfortable beds in clean rooms, no problem if you return in the early hours....always my first choice place to stay when in York

We visited with a group of friends over Easter. Great location, close to the central town area. Rooms were clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable. Friendly staff. Linen provided but towels could be hired for £2. Overall a great stay at a nice hostel!
