Stayed here for 2 nights in November 2016. The rooms were small but clean and sufficient, staff were very obliging and this Inn has a great location. Parked our car on arrival and didn't need to use it again until we left. However, the chef had left prior to our arrival so we were given vouchers for breakfast to use... More

Me and my partner stayed here for a weekend break and going off the pictures and reviews looking forward to the stay. However when we arrived we noticed most of the pictures did not represent the present state of the accommodation. We checked in at 3.00 pm as requested but they did not know what we had booked. Also did... More

Manager has the worst attitude, she is rude and unhelpful. Had to go to a cafe for breakfast as there is no chef. The place was so small we could not eat in. Rooms very small and dirty There are much better places to stay!!!

We called in at this inviting, family based, welcoming & all together pleasing hostelry on a cold & damp Sunday afternoon. Serving very well kept ales & the Sunday roast lunch was nothing else but perfection. Clearly the kitchen side of the business know exactly what it takes to please its customers. No phaff, simple, honest & clearly using quality ingredients... More

Myself and my boyfriend decided to stop here for some drinks before we went out for our evening meal and loved this place. It had a nice open fire which was cosy and warm after a day of exploring York. There was a great range of drinks that were great value for money. Will definitely visit again!

We boked two rooms for one night ready for my graduation. The rooms were basic but had everything we coud have needed. Lovely staff, who were more than happy to help. Free parking and breakfast (they offered to make mine a sandwich so I could eat it on the walk to the minster). Loved our stay here and would definitely... More

This place is excellent value, free parking and breakfast in with the room. Pub food was great, the staff and owner are friendly. We stayed in the old stables, nice and quiet & warm. We would return when we come back to York.

Easy to find and a friendly welcome from the new owner and staff. Free parking a real bonus. Room 10 was perfect for us, all we look for when we visit York. Rustic bar which felt homely. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Great location within a few minutes walk of the main centre. Would recommend this to anyone and... More
