Overall the hotel was good. Staff were friendly, room was spacious, and the hotel is in a good location. A bit annoying that you have to pay for parking, but at least they have somewhere to park. The room was nice and clean, however was really cold. Luckily we didn't spend too much time in the room as we were visiting family and only went back there to sleep for one night after checking in. It was quite a cheap room so is good value for money.
We booked this hotel through booking.com. This hotel has plenty of good reviews. The hotel allocated us with the room next to the lift. We could hear the lift going ups and downs through the wall. Thankfully, the hotel moved us to another room. The room itself was lovely and spacious. The shower was losing its pressure and temperature momentarily. We found the mattress to be too firm for our liking and the pillows were not comfort to sleep on. Maybe it’s down to our preference. We would stay here again as the hotel was lovely and in the great location.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Location is great and central to all amenities within York. Only complaint we would have as a group was the room temperatures, they were freezing. Despite turning off the air con and closing the windows. We couldn’t warm them up for love nor money. I appreciate the temperature outside was freezing too of course. Also, whilst used cups were replaced in the bedrooms, they weren’t removed from outside the bedroom door and both days there were cups on the corridor floor. Not a problem, but something to take into consideration. Breakfast was lovely, and offered a good variety to cater for all tastes.
Coming straight from a standard room in another chain hotel in Harrogate to a superior room here a comparison was inevitable. The Radisson being half the price again for a smaller room with a corresponding smaller bathroom and lacked a fridge. Clothes were openly hung probably to avoid reducing the floor space with a wardrobe. The bed was comfy and the tv of a good size but hardly any channel options. We were on the 6th floor and paid the extra premium for the view of the Minster, perhaps this alone made it superior? Breakfast was ok, the usual buffet assortment with hot drinks from a machine. Unfortunately the hot water to make tea wasn’t hot so it was impossible to make a decent cup. The room kettle came into its own. Complimentary room biscuits and water were a nice touch. We were fortunate to get a space in the car park (I think £20 a day but not sure), otherwise it’s the expensive NCP one. Returning from the city centre at 2.45 our room was still unmade and I enquired at reception. Apparently new visitors that day take precedent over the existing guests. Each time I had reason to speak to reception staff they were always polite, helpful and friendly and this lady apologised providing 2 drinks vouchers for the bar. After a draughty 3/4 hour wait in the foyer we returned to our room which was still unmade. About 4pm a grumpy woman knocked on the door and said they were busy, gave the bathroom floor a quick wipe and straightened the bed. York is a beautiful town. The hotel location is superb, the view was lovely and the hotel itself is ok - you pay for the location and view.…
Great location, clean & modern hotel. Car parking next door. Nice size room, comfortable bed. Lovely shower room. Iron, board & hairdryer in room. Plenty of plug sockets for electrical devices both sides of the bed. Really enjoyed our stay.
Very impressed with this lovely modern hotel. Looks dated from the outside but beautiful modern interior and only a short walk to city centre . Perfect location fir city break. Credit to housekeeping, hotel was spotless.
I stay in Park Inn on a regular basis due to work commitments. Rooms are good size, clean, fully equipped and with a large screen. The bar is lovely with a nice river view but closes down at 10.30. In addition there is a 24/7 self service shop where you can buy toiletries, alcohol etc. For all gym enthusiasts like me the small hotel gym will do the job for a couple of days. Please also note that the hotel is undergoing major upgrades and it will look great at the end of the project. Finally I have to say that all stuff are very friendly. Shout out to the Greek girl Natassa (front line manager or something) who is amazing and provides excellent customer service. She also found my missing headphones…
Great location, good breakfast (although it's a bit early they stop service on a Monday) Room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the main let down was the pillows they were very uncomfortable and struggled to get to sleep, my girlfriend was exactly the same as I thought it could've just been me. There were no spares in any of the cupboards or anything, shame that this minor thing caused such a problem.
I would stay again. Bed was comfortable for me (hard mattress) is what I like. Very clean and nice decorated. £15 to park isn't ideal. The music for the bars opposite side of the river did disturb me.
Absolutely freezing rooms…everytime! I’ve stayed in this hotel many times through work. Every time, the room is absolutely freezing. The heating doesn’t work as it is locked by reception. When I requested reception to unlock the heating it still doesn’t work. I was sat in my room wearing a jumper and a coat to stay warm.
