Had a lovely week staying at Roomzzz recently. Great location near the river. Our room was spotless and so comfy. Loved the kitchen area with everything you needed for your stay. The grab and go breakfast was delicious, it really sets you up for the day. Free coffee and drinks available all day in the reception area. I loved the hot chocolate. Reception was very nice with nice comfortable seating area to enjoy your coffee. Staff on reception were very friendly and always had time to answer any questions you had on the area. Would definitely go back next time we visit York.
There should be a good rather than average or very good - this hotel is good but has 1 or 2 fundamental flaws for us. We stayed for 2 nights and requested a high floor. We were very grateful to receive a top floor standard room. The room itself was very nice, seemed very clean and was spacious. Bed was comfortable shower was good, kitchen helped us as we had a young baby so could prepare bottles and sterilize etc. The grab and go breakfast was better than expected and would last you till lunch and the staff were polite. The parking at £15 a night is a bit steep - especially at off peak times when there are clearly spaces left and you've already paid to stay - but we knew that was the price in advance and still booked so that's fine. The negatives were 1 not so bad and 1 really quite shocking for us. the rooms all have wooden flooring and despite being on the top floor, on the 1st night one of the rooms either side of us must have had nelly the elephant staying. The stomping was atrocious and went on until nearly midnight. We have to be in the room early due to having a young baby with us, so this wasn't pleasant at all. I would not stay here in a room below top floor. The biggest criticism of this establishment comes if you are disabled or have a child in a buggy with you. There are stairs at the front entrance to enter the hotel, in fact i think there are 2 or 3 different sets of stairs, but no ramps whatsoever. So we were forced to enter the hotel via the basement car park ....and leave by the basement car park every single time we came or left. This carpark is only accessible by walking round the back of the hotel and down into a dark carpark to find the lift. I would not feel comfortable my partner having to do that on her own at night. the lights do come on after detecting motion but even then....who knows? if we found this bad as a couple with a buggy how does a disabled person feel at this treatment, it really is quite disgusting that that is the only way to enter the hotel if you are disabled or have a child. I did raise this with the very nice and polite staff on checking out and they agreed and said they understood but that was it. I would possibly stay here again as a single man/group of friends but never again as a family. and even then, only on a top floor. A real shame as the room was very nice.…
We stayed here as a hen party and we were all pleasantly surprised on how lovely it was! The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The breakfast was only a tiny grab and go buffet but there was a small food essentials shop that you could purchase items from to prepare in your kitchen equipped room or use the short and scenic walk into town to find somewhere to have breakfast. The rooms were quiet at the back, some guests at the front heard geese on the river and the toll of the minster bells in the morning but that wasn’t a problem at all. We will definitely be visiting again for a night or 2 away in York.
Me and my wife have recently returned from a 3 night stay at roomzzz york room 419 and we’re very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. This is our first ever review but we felt compelled to right one. This is not to put people off but hopefully to prompt the management to rectify the problems that we experienced. We arrived Friday the 9th of September in the afternoon and the pleasant receptionist was very welcoming and Told us our room was ready. We had a loft room and was very excited to settle in after seeing the pictures on there website. Upon entering the room we could instantly see that the Matt under the coffee table had fluff and dust all over it which looked like dog hair. We immediately complained and were told that pets were not allowed in the hotel , in any case it was clear that the floor hadn’t been properly hoovered. The receptionist is very apologetic and give us a key for a riverside room. But upon entering the room and obviously checking the same spots as the previous room we had exactly the same issue, we could also see nail clipping on the Matt, as before it was clear the floor hadn’t been hoovered properly. We went to reception to tell them ask if we could have hoover to vacuum the floor our selves, as before they were really apologetic and said they would come and do it themselves. To say that we weren’t as enthusiastic as before we checked in about our trip would be a massive understatement “first impressions last”. After the receptionist left we had a look around the room and noticed the ceiling light had cobweb’s hanging from the rose and webs and cobwebs all around the shade in the living area, the floor downstairs which is vinyl tiles is lifting next too the skirting opposite the bathroom and dust was on a lot of surfaces. We decided not to complain again and make the most of it. We were really excited about outer trip to york as my wife is in the middle of cancer treatment and we are unable to go abroad. We hope this is read by the management because the problems we encountered are easily rectified by better cleaning standards and a few DIY jobs to keep on top of. On the bright side the room are great and modern and you are about a 20 min walk from the minster and all the sights around the town. We paid almost 600 pound for our 3 nights and Sadly we won’t be coming back to roomzz again as we were that disappointed about the cleanliness of the room.…
Stayed 3 nights and couldn’t find any faults will definitely be back! There was so much to do in York there just wasn’t enough time. And to come back to my beautiful room was amazing thank you all for such a lovely time.
We have just returned from a lovely stay at Roomzzz in York. My husband booked one of the Loft Suites as it was my birthday and our wedding anniversary. First time staying here and we’re planning on booking again for January for my husbands birthday! When we checked in they had upgraded us to a Loft Suite with a balcony view and had hand written a birthday and an anniversary card with rose petals on the bed - it was a lovely surprise! The room was very clean and the amenities in the room were fantastic - the kitchenette had everything you needed! The free coffee machine in the lobby served lovely coffee too. It’s in a great location next to the river, 8-10min walk to the centre. There’s also a Sainsburys Local, Sicilian Restaurant, Indian, Fish and Chips and one of the nicest Thai Restaurants I’ve eaten at in a long time just a 5min walk - all on one street. The staff were all so friendly too! Can’t recommend this place enough. See you in January Roomzzz!!!…
Stayed in an apartment with balcony overlooking the river, you could see it from our bed! Every facility you could wish for in the kitchenette and seating area. Lovely staff, complementary breakfast which we took on our walk in the morning, you are 5 minutes walk from Rowntree Park. Easy parking and lift from the underground parking to your floor. It’s 10 -15 minutes walk from the centre which suits us fine. Lovely to wake up in such peaceful surroundings, the path outside by the river takes you either for a walk or into the city and is used by all. Good value for money compared to some. Cannot wait to stay there again!
Clean, comfortable, friendly service from lady & gentleman on desk afternoon of 27th August. Lovely position right by the river, good parking & very comfy bed. Air con good & could have windows open. Would recommend to others for nice place to stay in York. Kitchen was well equipped to
As a family of 4 visiting York, we chose Roomzzz due to its spacious apartments and riverside location. It's next to Rowntree Park, perfect for keeping the kids entertained even after a long day of walking around York. Kids also loved the ice cream boat when we took a stroll across the Millennium Bridge to the other side of the river one of the days. The staff were friendly, our apartment was clean and modern, it even comes with a kitchen if you wish to cook something healthy while away. They even had unlimited hot drinks. Another hit is the continental breakfast, kids couldn’t wait to go downstairs each morning to Grab (whatever they wanted) & Go!
Booked a loft with river view, the room was outstanding very clean and tidy. good location, staff all very friendly. I will definitely recommend this Hotel and be returning 100 percent when we visit York
