Just back from a 4 day break with Caledonian Travel to York and stayed at this hotel. Very pleased with everything, from the food to the nice clean room. The staff were very welcoming, polite and friendly. I had a single room, pretty small, but very clean and adequate for me, with a little flat screen TV and tea/coffee making...

stayed here for just one night, with 3 generations, Mum 96, me & my daughter, we was greeted with a very friendly smile just before lunch on Sunday, a nice brew with soya milk for my daughter on the house whilst we waited for our rooms to be finished, 30 minutes later we'd unpacked. Later that evening the lady running...

For some reason this hotel has only 2 star rating. The people and service could not be faulted.Close to the city of York and the York racecourse. Within walking distance. The local history is great and many interesting places to visit.

In a fantastic location only 10 minutes walk to the centre. Nice spacious rooms, a little dated but clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable if a little creaky! Staff seemed nice. Lovely full English breakfast. The drinks in the bar were not bad prices and the front of the hotel has a lovely garden with seating outside. Free...

Just returned from a three day stay at Wheatlands Lodge and all six of us can't speak highly enough of the hotel and its staff. We have stayed twice before and every time we return we are delighted with the friendly, family service. The hotel is ideally situated with a leisurely walk into the centre taking no more than 15...

Just got back from another fab stay at Wheatland Lodge stayed here for a few years now, nice place to stay, very clean and excellent management and staff always willing to help very friendly already booked for next year. This hotel is about 10 min walk from racecourse and not too far from other attractions that York has to offer.

This is a lovely hotel a short walk from the train station and the center of York. It is on a quiet street. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is wonderful--full cooked English breakfast and alternate options as well. But it is the owners/staff that really make this place shine. They couldn't have been more accommodating--actually did a load...
