We booked this hotel purely by chance and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff were excellent in this private boutique hotel - always a smile and so very helpful. It is only a bed and breakfast hotel but we all agreed that the breakfasts were first class. The rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean with recently refurbished en-suits....

Stayed here again recently. This hotel is very close to the centre of York so very convenient for all things. It is a very good hotel, with off road parking and you get a great breakfast, although it could do with some more fresh fruit . There is also a small bar and the staff are very friendly (especially Stuart)...

Came here with friends and we booked 4 twin rooms and 1 family room! The hotel is well situated as it is 5 min walk and you are within the city walls. The car park at the rear is an added bonus. The rooms are lovely, size is brilliant, bath with shower over. Good wardrobe and storage. Very warm and...

This must be our 5th or 6th visit to the Minster Hotel and as usual the staff are great. From reception to waiting staff, everyone is so polite and can't do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are always clean and tidy. The breakfasts really set you up for the day. Ideal location for enjoying a...

An amazing find. A lovely old private hotel right in the heart of York within a few minutes of York Minister, so it definitely lives up to its name. Access and private parking is a little tight but considering you are in the centre of town very handy. Having said that, we were able to walk to most places of...

Stayed for the one night. Last minute, so glad to have car parking available. Location couldn't be better. 5 min walk to centre. Room ok. Bathroom disappointing though. Spot lights out. Mirror lights not working. Breafast good. Very pleasant staff. Building just needs a bit of TLC! Over all not bad. Beng in the front of the building you could...

What a difference!! We first stayed at the Minster Hotel a few years ago and it was very disappointing. But what a difference under its new owners! everything about our stay was fantastic - the well-equipped, spacious, comfortable room, the friendly staff, the excellent breakfast, the location, the free and safe parking, etc, etc. We spent a fantastic four days...

We stayed here for several nights. We visit a couple of main towns/cities a year and we always look for somewhere with parking and close enough to walk to nearly all the main attractions. The Minster ticked all these boxes, its in a great location for seeing York and has a decent size car park. The rooms were comfortable and...

This hotel was recommended to me by the hotel I stayed in in Edinburgh, banking on the Ettrick not wanting to mess its reputation I stayed here for a couple of nights. Rooms get smaller the further south you go, York is no exception. Having said that everything was clean and worked. I could not get a better location and...
