The Minster Hotel is at a very nice spot, on walking distance of the city centre and the York Minster. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed at room number 10, a clean and large room. Unfortunately it was at the 3rd floor, and the stairs are long, narrow and they creak, which can be a nuisance. Very good...

I stayed at The Minster Hotel this week and I was very happy with my stay. I couldn't get in at the hotel I usually stay at in York so with mixed feelings I looked for another hotel and I was not disappointed with my choice. The hotel staff were lovely, polite, helpful and smart. We arrived before check in...

lovely big room at front of hotel, lots of space. large wardrobe and lots of storage. Very quite considering on a main road so double glazing must be good. Receptionist Emma happy smiling nothing too much trouble exactly the type of person to welcome you somewhere new. Stuart at breakfast and doing other tasks through the day was the happiest...

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Minster Hotel. We were put in "The Lodge" which really means building in the car park. Our bed consisted of two single beds pushed together but one of the mattresses was like sleeping directly on the base. There were cobwebs together with the resident spider. The toilet was dirty...

Stayed for 2 nights at the Minster hotel. Excellent check in facilities. Only downside was that our room was in the car park not in the main hotel. The towels and sheets were clean but the rest of the room was dirty especially the skirting boards and door frames. Staff at breakfast were friendly and the food was ok. Not...

We arrived at The Minster Hotel before we could check in and like another reviewer were able to leave our car in the car park while we went exploring the city. We didn't realise how close it was to the city until we walked through the old walled entrance to the city - at the end of the road -...

The situation is excellent, only 200 yds or so from the Minster and the rear bedroom we had was so quiet you wouldn't believe you were in a city. Large car park. Breakfast was excellent except for the croissants which were dry and not good at all. Also caters for Europeans with cheeses and ham. The part we were in...

The original building dates from Victorian times and has the typical characterful creaky floors you either love or don't. What is very useful for a hotel just a couple of minutes walk to York Minster and restaurants is the ample parking at the rear of the hotel. The public rooms are indeed very nice but the bedrooms were a bit...
