We had two nights at Ascot House in York, a most enjoyable stay, exactly as described. We were greeted by the very knowledgeable man of the house who armed us with a map and perfect directions to walk into the city. We love to walk and for us it was a brisk 15 minute easy walk to all the things...

I stayed here last night and I was extremely upset. I could not have being more polite but the old man at the desk was unbelievably rude to me throughout my stay. His son however was lovely and couldn't help me enough. The place was old and quirky, rooms small but adequate, bathroom lovely and modern. Breakfast was lovely. However...

Spent three nights here at the end of March for my partners birthday. From the moment we arrived everything was really impressive and service could not be faulted. Our room was up some fairly steep stairs but well worth it. Clean, beautiful decor and lots of lovely touches. Breakfast was more than adequate and all the staff went beyond the...

Helpful host. Lovely stylish four-poster bedroom with very clean room and ensuite. Very friendly, helpful breakfast staff and delicious breakfast choice. Hotel traditional decor. 15 min walk to town great location for a visit to York.

Nothing negative to say. All excellent - room, breakfast and hosts. Short walk to town and plenty of good restaurants. We ate at Rustique which we would recommend. Having car parking on site meant we could park on arrival and leave the car for the whole of our stay.

Great b&b in York. The rooms are great. It is very clean and the house is full of character. The hosts are helpful. The breakfast is excellent. Fifteen minutes walk from the centre or get the bus from outside the door. Off street car parking. Much better than many hotels you could try in York. Will definitely book again.

Stayed at this ACCOMODATION for a two night break. We had a family room with a large bathroom on the second floor. Not a problem for us but the stairs were quite steep so not suitable for the less able. Although the location is out of the town centre we did not find this a problem as it only took...

Brilliant hotel with a great breakfast and the waitress was extremely efficient. Staff were very friendly, helpful throughout our stay. They went out of their way to make our dog welcome with water bowl treats, etc. We would not hesitate to book again.

What a fantastic venue, I adore the stained glass window on the stairs. The bedroom and bed so romantic (four poster) flowers and chocolates had been put in the room. The breakfast is freshly cooked and lots of choice. This is a family run business.
