This family owned and run gem is simply magical. Set right within the minster complex, with the city wall running behind. Helen the owner has truly put her heart and soul into this amazing place. The staff are warm, welcoming and really look after their visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Drinks in the Stunning Long Hall with its original...

My wife booked this for our anniversary, and explained that we required parking as she has a blue badge due mobility issues and it was for a special occasion. We chose the Edwards room and she was told that a parking space would be reserved, due to my wife's disability, but that wasn't the norm as usually they were first...

Had two nights at this fabulous hotel. It is just stunning. The grounds are lovely the location is perfect but the real treat awaits the chilly traveller as they walk into the warm, inviting reception area. Homely/chic/luxury are just some of the words to describe the interior. Check in was efficient and very personal, w were shown to our room...

We booked Gray's Court knowing very little about the hotel but what a wonderful choice it turned out to be! Nestling between the city walls and the Minster, it was the ideal location from which to visit the tourist venues of central York. On arrival we were greeted with delicious home made cakes (the scones were still warm) and a...

I stayed overnight as I was up in York for the first time for a concert. Great location, as York Minster was just around the corner, also close by is the York Theatre Royal. Bit tricky to find at first though. The first thing to rave about is the breakfast. Absolute highlight and their chef deserves an award for perfection....

We wanted to revisit York and have some quality time there. Quality is the watchword on this hotel. It's a family run business and run very well. The greeting is warm and welcoming, the historic building stunning and the furnishing and fittings providing a luxury feel. The food is exquisite and free breakfast a revelation; don't order porridge if you...

I decided to book a "posh" hotel for my French friend and I whilst visiting North Yorkshire after a friend took me here for coffee on a previous trip. I liked it so much and enquired about rooms and the hotel manager, Sarah, graciously offered to show us a couple that were able to be viewed - The Mortimer room,...

we attended a family wedding here, and loved everything about this wonderful hotel, the location is perfect, the grounds magical, the menu was amazing, and breakfast the next morning was an added treat - the staff were always very accommodating, loved the library, and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting York.

We had our wedding ceremony and celebrations afterwards here. What a wonderful, magical day! No detail was overlooked and everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was fabulous, the staff friendly and welcoming, our bedroom (The Cumberland) stunning and very comfortable. Cannot recimnebd this beautiful place enough!

Our children had bought my husband and I a voucher for a stay at this wonderful hotel and we were not disappointed. It's location is perfect for a stroll into this historic city and as it's tucked behind the minster very few people know it's there. The staff were great and our room was beautiful - The Aislaby. We were...
