We stayed for thee nights as part of our cross country tour. Emailed ahead of time to let them know the reason for the trip. Was expecting a little more of a personal touch. But altogether a good stay. Room was decent size and very clean. Large bed and good size bathroom. If I looked really hard I could see the Clifford Tower, but had a decent view of the York Minster. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of seating. The breakfast staff kept the food fresh and hot and the area is always clean. Great location with a short walk to anywhere you’d like to go. Katie went out of her way to help with anything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
A great hotel in an up and coming area just a stones throw away from the city centre. This hotel far exceeded our expectations in terms of both cleanliness and convenience. The suggested car park is around a ten minute walk from the front door however there is plenty of space to stop outside and drop the better half and the luggage off if you wish to save the arms a bit (side note, there is another multi-storey car park a hundred yards or so from the hotel however I am unsure of tariffs/operating hours). Check in was straight forward and informative. Our room was located on the third floor and was spaciously designed with a massive bed and all the expected amenities. It was spotless and modern, giving the feel of a hotel with a much higher star rating. We had a spacious bathroom, it conditioning and a generous bathroom space. We felt very safe throughout our stay. The large open plan reception area leads into the communal area which doubles up as the breakfast/bar area. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the buffet breakfast was great value for money. Only issue with check out was that we were unable to have our discount applied for parking as stipulated however that certainly wasn’t enough to ruin our stay. An easy five star review.…
The rooms were lovely and clean, pillows were heavenly. Helpful staff. Disabled access point outside the hotel was a lift for wheelchair so easy to get into hotel. Being disabled it was perfect being close to York centre for getting around.
Hotel was fine, it is mainly the lack of restaurant dining and the very poor selection of drinks at the bar. Breakfast mediocre and bland, limited selction on the cooked breakfast buffet, only sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, beans, tomatoes and small cubed hash brown type potato
This hotel we booked for our first anniversary, the hotel was lovely. Checking in was easy and staff were friendly and informative on where everything would be and what times also. Our room was so clean & fresh. Beautiful decor & comfy bed. All outlets were easy in reach which was great. Shower was lovely. Breakfast was between 6am-10am, everything was so fresh and tasty, great quality and so many options! The hotel itself was great location and we could easily walk into the centre and see and do everything we wanted too. Will definitely stay again and come back here 10000%.
Stayed overnight here and got a surprise with some of the unsavoury characters that appear to frequent the hotel. Witnessed an old drunken man bring in a suspected young prostitute as well as another unpleasant looking issues which isn’t appropriate for the website. Just to say if you have a young family or elderly relatives avoid in my opinion. The door security is good but should be on a lot earlier than 11pm in my opinion. Anybody could and did walk in and out without being challenged whilst I was sat in the reception area….
I had a very pleasant stay here. Room was nice and tidy, plenty of plug sockets near the bed for charging phones etc. Breakfast was nice in the morning. Tv also allows you to access BBC Iplayer abd YouTube which is a nice touch and saved me trying to watch things on my phone. It is on the opposite side of the city to the railway station, but it is still pretty central to most York attractions
Spent a night here on a visit to York. The hotel was clean, well presented and modern. The rooms we had were comfortable and spacious for this type of hotel. The breakfast was particularly good with great choice. And finally the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again
As always I spent far too long trying to pick which hotel to stay in while visiting York. I picked Hampton By Hilton Piccadilly due to the location and the price which was a couple of hundred less (for 3 nights) than other options for a similar room/hotel quality. All rooms include breakfast which made it work while in my view. The breakfast was buffet style both cooked and cold options plus make your own Waffles. The hotel was clean and the rooms well maintained and the upper floors have king beds and offer a great view of the Minster or a view of the Clifford Tower. Free toiletries, ironing board/safe/hairdryer and the mini Smeg fridge was a nice touch. Most central York hotels offer parking but at a cost. The hotel doesn’t have onsite parking but offers a discount at the nearby Q Park Shambles which if only 5-10 minutes away. The location paid off will shops/bars really close by and we would happily stay again.…
This hotel exceeded all our expectations. It was extremely comfortable and stylish. The lounge area was excellent and the breakfast delicious and high quality. To cap it all the staff were very friendly and attentive - we’ll definitely be back and will recommend this to family and friends if they’re in York
