We stayed in December for the snooker in York. The location is perfect for the city of York, only 10 - 15 min walk from City Centre. Our room 1 was comfortable and warm. Breakfast is served to your room on a tray. Only critic of the room is the bathroom sink is a little small and low down, managed...

Me and my partner stayed here 29th oct-01st nov. We stayed in rm 1, loved the meerkat wallpaper! One of the reason we picked Holmlea was because of it's quirky charm, and great attention to detail! so many Guesthouse's don't have any character! Decent size room, also very clean! Staff were very welcoming and friendly, Sara the owner was great...

We stayed two nights with a 10 week old when visiting york. The room was large and comfortable, if a little cold (it was freezing outside). The breakfast is basic but does set you up for the day and remember it is delivered to your room :-) The loss of a mark is due to the 3 single beds -...

Thank-you so much for taking the time and effort to post a positive review, we really do appreciate it. Just to clarify that this room can be made up as a king size double and a single bed. We also have an extra bed for an extra child. If we do not receive a request for a double configuration then...

I have stayed here previously, but wanted a little early xmas shopping break so booked in again for a couple of nights. Like my previous visit everything was clean and tidy and the staff super helpful. I love the location , quiet & no street noise on an evening but an easy walk into the town centre. I walked back...

Thank-you so very much for taking the time to post this wonderful review. We're surging up the list of most popular Bed & Breakfasts in York and this is because our guests are so very supportive and appreciate what Holmlea offers. We do our very best and strive to offer good, decent, characterful accommodation at affordable prices. I am so...

We chose the Holmlea as it was close to where we needed to be rather than for the general tourist sites. It is within walking distance of the City centre but it is a good walk. The principal attraction was the free parking which is on-street and can be a bit of a struggle as you are limited to specific...

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay at Holmlea. We do have permits but they are limited, however there is free parking a short walk away. Our rooms are definitely bedrooms and not suites, we feel this is reflected in our prices. We charge between £70-85 per room per night at weekends when most bed & breakfasts...

Spent a weekend here two years ago and returned yesterday for a 3-day break. Wow, was nice then but even better now. Has been refurbished so tastefully. I like cleanliness, peace and solitude and Holmlea certainly offers this. Can't praise it enough. It takes me 10 minutes to walk to the town centre - very scenic and quaint little shops...

I stayed here for a wedding with a friend in a twin room. Check in was easy and parking is on a first come first served basis. I was surprised to learn that there was also a complimentary breakfast included which was brilliant considering the reasonable price. Easy walk into York so no taxis needed. Would stay again.
