Please do not book room 4. Lovely hotel, so clean and breakfast was great! However the room which cost us £237 had apparently a new bed but the mattress and pillows were awful. If either of us moved we awoke and the room had an unpleasant odour, the view was of the courtyard and I was awakened throughout the night by what sounded like a generator. In our view this was over priced.

Firstly, we understand that mattresses are a very personal preference, and what may be comfortable for one person may not be for another. We apologize that the mattress and pillows in your room did not meet your expectations. Regarding the unpleasant odor in your room, we are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. This is not a common issue, and we take such matters seriously. Excellent hotel , staff were amazing especially reception staff, bed was sooo comfy & room fabulous great place to stay highly recommended to stay here and a 15 minute walk into York city centre , the area is lovely too , I would definitely book to stay here again

Stayed two nights with my elderly parents and whilst the hotel was clean, comfortable, beautifully presented and near to town it was the staff and breakfast that really sets this place apart, highly recommended and I plan to stay again when I go back to York.

Quiet, pleasant position close to city centre. Comfortable, clean room with helpful staff and a good breakfast. York is a great city to visit with lots of interesting places. I would stay at B+B York again.

This is a fabulous place to stay with a good welcome and a fabulous breakfast. It has parking which is a bonus and it’s only c. 10 minutes to walk into the City. The room was fresh and ultra clean. Highly recommend thankyou.

Very good breakfast and staff very attentive, and very helpful in the breakfast room. Room a bit spartan and the walls thin. But provision of the electric fan for a hot weekend was really welcome! Overall would stay here again.

Room pleasant, location very nice, clean, helpful staff, great breakfast, and had onsite parking! The inn was well maintained, nice simple furnishings. Great choice of breakfasts, week prepared Svs served nicely. Works stay again.

We were in York for a visit to the University. The B&B was booked last minute and was better than expected. Comfortable and clean with a good breakfast. Staff were very helpful. All in all it was great value and so close to the city centre.
