We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. Although we were early our room was ready. We only booked a meal for the evening of our arrival as we had arranged to meet family for the rest of our stay. The meal was superb. It was a shame no one else was in the dining room. There was plenty of space in our bedroom with loads of room for clothes. Although the weather was freezing cold the room was really warm. It was not too far to the city centre (about 15-20 mins for us OAPs) but would advise taking a map and a torch in the evening. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed here for 2 nights, fantastic large clean room, all facilities (bathroom, hot drinks in room etc) were fantastic, great breakfast. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Also booked a back massage for myself and my wife with Emily, (if you are staying here - book this) fantastic. Hotel is in easy walking distance of York centre. Will definitely be booking here again next time we visit York
Stayed here overnight as we were going to the theatre . Seen it many times but never stayed . It was easy to get too up an alleyway , only snag a little tight getting into car park . No other complaints! The room was.large and spotless a very comfy bed , a clean shower and plenty drinks sachets on the courtesy tray . The breakfast was excellent and was just cooked as I asked for . Good quality sausages and bacon .with plenty of cereal, different soya and almond milk avail able, and fresh fruits with yogurts in a pleasant dining room . I will return with girl friends next time as hubby wasn't keen to try the hot tub. The garden area looked tidy and would probably be lovely to sit in during summer months .
Just returned from a lovely weekend in York with friends. I can't recommend Hedley House enough, the hotel was lovely and cosy. We had a triple room which was spacious and warm, the beds were so comfortable and the shower was amazing. We were also treated to a beautiful frosty view of York and the Minster from our window. Breakfast was delicious. Only a 10 minute walk to the Minster. Will certainly be returning
Ideally located just a few streets away from York minister and the centre. Check in was great - service from the front desk was on point. Room was lovely. Bed so comfy. Only draw back was two things. The car park was £14.50 which I think is unreasonable and actually tarnished what could have been a perfect stay. Appreciate York doesn’t have lots of free parking knocking about but it would be a nice touch to let your guests park for free. Realistically all your guests need it. Also it was a windy night and bathroom widow was clattering most of the night - needs sorting. Overall recommended and great stay.
Lovely hotel, location is good about a 5 minute walk into York City Centre. Rooms welcoming, warm & a good size. Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Great breakfast too, will definitely book here again when back in York.
The positives: staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Willing to help with any issues and go above and beyond. Breakfast was lovely and great service. Great location (10 mins walk to the Minster). Comfy bed, modern bathroom and up to date technology (we liked the apple tv and the Bluetooth speakers in the bathroom). Room was generally comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice to have the option of the hot tub at no additional charge. A few suggestions: we struggled with condensation in our bathroom due to the window not opening and the fan not working properly. The room could do with some drawers (not much space to put things other than the wardrobe). Would be nice to have two armchairs but understand space might be tricky as we were in a smaller room. Breakfast was really lovely but might be nice to have a lighter option of some croissants/pastries? Overall: very positive experience and our visit was characterised by the wonderful staff. Thank you all very much! We will be back. Sophie & Ciaran…
You rescued our family trip to York when another hotel booking fell through. The 4 rooms we had were good, breakfast was great and the staff were all brilliant. Very friendly hotel. Location is good too, easy to walk into York City Centre or drive further away. Hedley House would be our first choice in future.
Stayed overnight as we came to York to do an escape room type thing from mystery guide,York itself is the escape room but back to the Hedley Hotel, an absolute brilliant stay, very friendly staff ,very clean and the room so,so comfortable, with its own car park it made travelling to York so easy and enjoyable, I was even able to.leave the car for the day even after checking out. The location is literally a few minutes walk from the very heart of York. I will definitely be returning to this hotel at some point soon Thanks fir a wonderful overnight stay
Can't fault our stay at all. Excellent right from booking to check out. Lovely room, beautiful breakfast, friendly helpful staff, excellent location and amenities. Will definitely be staying again - hopefully in the not too distant future.
