First time at this hotel, little bit hard to find. No car park at hotel but you are given a car park about 10 mins away called Q parking. Again it was a little hard to find unless you were local. £17.60 a night that’s with the hotel discount. Once inside the hotel it is modern! Light and airy. Check in was very easy with excellent staff. A lift is available to all floors. We had a city view ( Clifford’s Tower). Room was very clean, with a big bed. Bathroom was very clean with a good walk in shower, be careful shower base is a little slippy. There is a fridge in the room if you wanted to keep your drinks cold. At the bottom of the bed was a 55 inch tv. The hotel gives a free breakfast hot and cold we enjoyed the buffet. The hotel is about 10 mins away from all attractions. The rail station is about 20 mins away. Minster 10-15 mins away. I would stay there again the only negativity is car parking in York. I would give this hotel 10 out of 10. All staff was friendly and helpful.…
Hotel presentation good within walking distance of train station, staff very helpful and check in was straight forward. Our room wasn't ready on arrival however, the staff were more than helpful in storing our bags. Bedroom was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was like a cattle market, b3ing served in a small area, help yourself buffet style with long queue for hot beverages. Only 1 machine dispensing hot drinks, then lack of cups. Long queue for toaster, hot food and then no cutlery. Dirty tables. Not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel chain. Very disappointing will not return.
Just had a lovely stay at the York Hampton. We wanted to travel on the train for a day in Leeds on one of the days. This Hotel is a five minute walk away from station so ideal spot. Leeds is 30 minutes away on train if anyone is interested. Also the cost of train ticket £19.50 for 2 open return I thought was a good deal. Anyway back to the hotel. Lovely and clean,Friendly staff, short walk to city centre, and a beautiful breakfast what’s not to like. The room was lovely, comfy bed and a good shower. Only thing we missed was not having a fridge and no ice machine on each floor. But all in a beautiful hotel. Thanks to all the staff at the York Hampton.
This is a great hotel. Faultless from the clean liness of the room, to the politeness of all the staff. We never had one single issue.Breakfast included was a nice bonus.Good selection to set you up for the day.Managed to book parking 5 minutes walk away.Great location to walk into York itself.Stayed in York several times, but this hotel will now be my first choice of accommodation.
Very good value for money - great sized room, fantastic breakfast. While I gave a 4 star rating, I’d have no hesitation recommending this hotel. Staff were great, breakfast was particularly good - lots of cold and hot options. All self service. Location is fantastic - only 5 mins walk to Shambles. Loads of restaurants in walking distance. Couldn’t get a better location. Just a couple of things that would have made it a 5 - no mini bar/snacks in room, no room service, no bar soap, no vanity ammenities, cannot use cash even in the bar, only machine coffee. These things are not complaints - observations really; but things I’d wish I’d known. So just highlighting them, in case it helps others. Despite these things - the value for money with the included breakfast and big rooms, big shower etc, make it a place I’d visit again. (Tesco express only 1 min walk - with everything we needed)…
Rooms are lovely, clean ,well equipped. Beds comfy bathroom lovely and clean. Good sized standard double. Buffet breakfast included in the price plenty of choice from hot n cold foods. Freshly made foods topped up. You won’t go hungry here. All staff lovely and friendly customer service is great. Well done and keep it up. We will be back. Had a burger meal in the evening good quality burger food n drink reasonable prices.

Hamptons By Hilton is very easy to find in a nice quiet street within the old walls. It is within easy walking distance to so many of Yorks attractions with friendly service and great sized rooms. I will stay here again.
I stayed here for two nights while away on business. The room had been booked well in advance with a company credit card so as far as I was concerned everything was in order. I received an email from Hilton the night prior to my arrival inviting me to check in via the app to save time on arrival. This was simple and straightforward. However on arrival, after a four hour drive, the receptionist informed me that the Hilton had not actually taken payment for the rooms and that they would need the physical card that was used during booking. I tried to explain it was a company credit card and that I did not have that with me. The receptionist was entirely disinterested and just kept repeating “it’s our company policy”. Ultimately I had to pay the rooms on my personal card as the receptionist was either unable or unwilling to offer any kind of customer service. When i asked what they would do with someone in the same position if they couldn’t put it on their own card she literally stood shrugging her shoulders and rolling her eyes and said she didn’t know. Terrible service from a hotel with the Hilton name. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was tasty. It is within walking distance of lots of attractions and places to eat. Overall it’s a very nice hotel. The rest of the staff were helpful and friendly but the initial receptionist really let the place down badly.…
