Fantastic weekend away too York. Thoroughly enjoyed what the city had to offer and the staff the Hotel's partner restaurant and bar were friendly, attentive and went beyond the call of duty, in particular Kelly
We booked here for a last minute weekend in York. I read reviews but was happy to give it a shot- it was fairly priced. We arrived late to check in on Friday night 11pm- Will on reception was excellent, swiftly checked in and he gave plenty of tips on things to see and do in York. We stayed in Rm 26 on ground floor- room was well ventilated but warm, spacious and most importantly spotless. Every member of staff we saw said hello! We had breakfast in the beefeater- the range of food was really good and good quality too. Its only a 10min journey into York so this place was perfect!
Nice hotel and good value! Staff very nugood especially Kelly who was always smiling and very attentive! Food good but bar limited with draft beer while we were there! Hotel ok but getting tired and could do with updating! Heating in rooms poor as we needed to dry gear, could benefit from heated towel rails etc
Great for Groups with single, accessible and comfortable rooms available. Very good dining arrangements for our group. All the staff did everything they could to make our stay very relaxed and enjoyable.
Nice staff, decent breakfast and comfortable room. Best of all it was quiet overnight. It is close to the northern part of the York by-pass but it wasn't a problem. It's on an business park BUT that's actually quite useful as there is a good Chinese restuarant two mins walk away a decent chippie and a Co-Op store attached to the local petrol station. All walkable. Parking is plentiful.
Just come home from a 2 day stay for work. All was good and must give Joseph on reception a huge thank you, he was such a lovely person and was always helpful and a great asset to the hotel. Good luck at Uni Joseph 😊
I have stayed in lots of Premier Inn hotels over the last few years and have liked them for all being consistent in that you know what you’re getting before you get there but I find them very highly priced now and cooked breakfast food quality was terrible which I would like my money back for as I didn’t eat it.
I stay here at least once a week with work and although yes its part of a huge chain that we all know and what to expect, the staff are what make this place. Always helpful and happy to help. If you are not sure where to stay on the outskirts of York this is the place. Its clean, the food is decent and they will always make you welcome. Well done guys..
One night stay - the hotel was fine, staff were helpful but we were extremely disappointed with the cooked breakfast. Not enough food being put out for the amount of guests waiting. Only one slice of bacon, and there was a queue. The sausages were not cooked properly and the black pudding was soggy. Also no milk in the coffee machine. My Americano white was a black one. Not the usual from Premier Inn (other locations).
We stayed on a warm Summer night in July - though not at the time of the heatwave. Although this hotel appears to be set up for air conditioning, none was available nor advertised. By 2.30 am neither my wife nor I had slept a wink. The room thermostat was showing 25.5 degrees - so I opened the bedroom window (for safety this would only open slightly). However, being close to a busy road as well as a railway line, there was much traffic disturbance. My next step was to present myself to reception and ask for a room change - perhaps to the quieter side of the building. The receptionist was unable to oblige. After what I estimate to be three hours sleep, I again reported to reception. The day receptionist was sympathetic and gave me a small card so that I could reclaim the cost of the room - as per the 'Good Night Sleep Guaranteed' pledge. After filling in the feedback form, I heard nothing for several weeks, so contacted Premier Inn customer services. They explained that my claim was invalid because they had no control over the temperature of the room - nor the outside traffic, and this was covered in their terms and conditions. Actually, having looked at these T and Cs, there would seem to be very little that a customer could legitimately claim against. Premier Inn make much of their 'Good Night Guarantee' in their advertising, yet it so misleading that it borders on a scam. During previous visits to Premier Inn I haven't always slept that well - but never attempted to claim. Should I ever stay in a Premier Inn again, I will not waste my time complaining. They really don't care. It is only fair to say that the staff at the hotel and adjoining pub were very good. It's just a shame that they could not enhance my stay on this occasion.…
